According to House, the sword and presumably the gun was the property of John House, House's non-biological father played by R. Lee Ermey.
House refers to the Pokèmon Arceus from the video games and TV show. Arceus is said to be the first Pokèmon and was told to make the universe and all Pokèmon in it.
After patient has an unusual allergic reaction, Taub orders racemic epinephrine, a racemic mixture that contains equal amounts of left- and right-handed enantiomers of a molecule. However, some molecules have two different forms known as Stereoisomerism, where they contain the same molecular formula, just in a different arrangement. One form is called the left-hand enantiomer, the other the right-hand enantiomer. They are oriented differently; specifically, they are mirrors of each other, so while the left-hand enantiomer of a molecule might have a chemical formula of COOH (carbon, two oxygen, and hydrogen), the right-hand would have the formula HOOC (hydrogen, two oxygen, and carbon). The orientation of a molecule can affect its chemical function almost as much as its chemical composition. For example, one of the most addictive drugs out there is methamphetamine, which has two enantiomers: levo-methamphetamine and dextro-methamphetamine (illicitly produced meth is racemic, meaning it contains both enantiomers). Dextro-methamphetamine (a schedule II controlled substance) is the right hand and has a narcotic effect. However, in contrast, the left hand is levo-methamphetamine (which is not a controlled substance when separated from the right hand), which has no narcotic effect and is found in over-the-counter nasal decongestants.
House says, "The jealous wife in the dining room with bipyridyl herbicide," referring to the mystery board game Clue, in which players must determine who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room, and with what weapon.
Actor Yaya DaCosta (Anita), who guests appearance in this episode, and Jesse Spence (Chase) go on to work together in the NBC "Chicago" series. Yaya on Med while Jesse on Fire and both crossover into each other's series.
