Timid, aspiring romance novelist Emily Tisdale is having the worst day ever she catches her fiancé in the arms of another woman, loses her job and, worst of all, has her dreams dashed when her novel is emphatically rejected.
The editors notes that were accidentally included with the rejection (the author should write about something she knows, which is obviously NOT romance!) convince her that writing is not enough. She must be an adventurous, romantic woman of mystery.
She assumes the identity of her romance novels dashing heroine, Victoria Powers, and heads to the grand opening of Rancho DAmour a falsely advertised luxury resort in a wild scheme to convince the editor of a prominent romance publisher to make her their new star novelist.
A series of humorous misadventures leads to love and soon Emily finds that romance lives at the Rancho DAmour. But love, like writing, is all about The Truth and when her deception is discovered adventurous, mysterious Victoria Powers is no help.
It is plain ol Emily Tisdale who must face the music if shes to have any chance of winning back the man she loves. Emily discovers that dreams can change and truth can be more powerful than the wildest of schemes when you fall under the spell of romance at Rancho DAmour.
