Don't expect an award-winning movie. This is low-budget fun for the holidays.

IN A NUTSHELL:

Do you ever wish you could do a day over again? Yeah, me too, about a million times! I love movies that include a time loop. I have some recommendations for some movies that repeat down below.

This movie is about an ad executive who gets more than she bargained for when Santa grants her wish for a Christmas do-over, and she realizes she's been missing precious time with her family.

THINGS I LIKED: Jennifer Taylor does a good job as a mom who is struggling to find balance in her life. I think a lot of moms will be able to relate to her character. Did you know Jennifer Taylor won first runner-up in the Miss Florida pageant two years in a row? She was just about ready to move back to Florida and give up acting when she finally got offered the part to play Chelsea in the popular TV show Two and a Half Men in 2003.

Don't expect an award-winning movie. This is low-budget fun for the holidays.

The film takes a look at our motivations and struggles.

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: Some of the acting moments were terrible.

It was super frustrating to watch the protagonist waste so much time that she had been given to redo her Christmas day.

It's kind of frustrating to see that the main character took a job to help the family financially, yet she's being made out to be the bad guy. Of course, she needed to set boundaries at work, but still...It's a role reversal of the classic story about a dad who puts his career ahead of his family. The dad in this story looked to be a stay-at-home dad even though their kids were not very young.

It's extremely predictable.

Some of the plot points were ridiculous.

Not all of the humor lands.

I didn't feel any chemistry between the married couple. Their marriage is on the rocks and THAT you feel.

None of the characters seemed very realistic. They're all super one-dimensional.

TIPS FOR PARENTS: No profanity Alcohol is consumed Overall, it's very family-friendly.

Very unrealistic Christmas

I found this to be very poor writing felt like they were trying to copy Groundhog Day And the family getting upset over silly little things cause it looks like they live very comfortable lives It should be very grateful for the things they have In another note, if anyone ever talks to your boss, like that, feel free to fire them, because in the real world that would never happen😉

But I do understand this is a cheap Christmas spirit movie, but I wish it had a little bit more spirit and more like a holiday movie It felt very flat unsatisfying Definitely no need for a sequel to this movie Thank u.

That poor groundhog

Take Groundhog Day, subtract Bill Murray and most of the charm and comedy of the movie but sprinkle in Christmas and boom, it still doesn't quite describe what this is. I've been a fan of the leading actress since her days as a South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dog. It's a Christmas movie so it's not supposed to be Oscar worthy but parts of this were just low effort high cringe. For the life of me I'll never understand certain aspects of this movie (I'll just say basketball) but they really do tie it in a neat little bow by the end. Still can't stop thinking about how much she liked bad boys in college though...

Extremely poorly made

There is not much in this world worse than the writing in this movie. The conversations are so ridiculous and inhuman that it feels uncanny in a scary way. Of course the acting is bad but that is typically expected for low-budget holiday TV films.

The mother in the film goes through however many days of faux-Groundhog Day and has zero character development and has a gift ideas list that is genuinely just one statement about each of her kids without actual gift anything - "Likes social media star... no, really* likes social media star". The entire climax of the movie became a 10-second conversation that could have been brought up by either party and neither of them had the communication skills to discuss (clearly the issue isn't just work).

The continuity mistakes are rampant - you can see the filmmakers in the reflection of the car. There is fake snow in one shot and then nothing in the next and they're supposed to be in the same areas. The kid is supposed to be a basketball star and can't dribble.

And the pushing of stereotypes is of course the worst - women just can't have a strong career or have a work-life balance tailored to her family without there being some kind of divorce talk in these movies, but of course men can grind away for 20 hour shifts.

I love watching trash Christmas movies but this one was particularly abhorrent!!

Not another one!!

How many groundhog days movies have we had over the years, too many to count!! Making one Christmasy isn't going to make a difference!! Plus there is no chemistry between the married couple!! He was just pick for the wrong reasons!! You get more chemistry between her and the Matthew Lawrence lookalike!!

I went into this one thinking "oh no, not another watered down Hallmark/Lifetime schmaltz-fest for dorks! BUT! I was literally grabbed by the lapels and punched in the face with the solid gold brick that is Christmas on Repeat!! This is a professional review!! No everyday movie fan will ever start a review like that! Ten stars is what that one gave this film? Since Amazonia took over this site, the fakes have flocked from the woodworks!! Trust this real review I'm giving, avoid this stupid movie at all cost!!

anti women hello??
caseynewman-226607 November 2023
This movie is quite literally the definition of anti working women. The main woman, mother of two, works like an hour on christmas morning, and the spouse loses his mind. Sure, she kinda ignored her personal life a little, but it is made evident the spouse is not pulling his weight in his own work life, yet becomes upset when he falls behind. In a cheap and poorly scripted turn of events, the mom wished to do christmas over again, and of course that is how it works. However, it becomes scarily obvious the director does not feel comfortable with woman being the breadwinner in the household. She is made to be the villain by working and being successful.... a little outdated if you ask me. Do yourself a favor and don't watch this movie.
