In this episode Larosière tells Mylene Legrand that he was abused when he was young by his stepfather, who he thought was his father, and that he found out the truth about their relationship when his stepfather died. He also says his only knowledge of his real father is that he was very rich, that his mother had worked for him, and that he fired and abandoned her when she became pregnant by him. At the end of the episode Larosière tells Lampion that he is going to seek out his father's identity.
This is something of a reworking (and negation) of what is established and transpires in "Petits Meurtres En Famille", the earlier miniseries in which the characters of Larosière and Lampion first appeared. In the miniseries Larosière reveals the same personal history about his childhood and his family situation, but he not only knows who his real father is, he actually meets him during the course of the story.
