What a class movie! Writing this review with a heavy heart because I missed the theatre experience of this movie only because of negative reviews from some random youtubers.... This movie is absolutely beautiful in many aspects....and truly deserve more appreciation from true general audience....cinematography & songs were really nice..also what a brilliant direction... it's not easy to shoot those ulsavam scenes with such huge no of people.and that was realistic and gave a nostalgic feeling...This movie is socially relevant & gave so many remarkable messages.me and my whole family enjoyed it..

Must watch moviee

A must match movie. Awesome visuals and music too. Everyone performed well doesnt feel that they are new faces. Decent story and nice mesage too. My rating for the movie is 9.8/10. Character of Vishnu unnikrishnan was the most beautiful element of the movie in my perspective. The movie decently handled humours and sediments scenes. The movie gives a relevant and important message which the current generation should be more aware of. I was also able to know the incident in the climax of the movie was a real incident. So happy to see more than 200 new face actors in the movie. Music department was just awesome.

far better version than Romeo and Juliet!
ngandacinema12 July 2023
Vedikkettu reminded us of Romeo and Juliet but a far better version!

The film and characters were so fascinating that we were transported into their universe and felt the ambiance

DELICIOUS

-The innovative main cast: there was a darker lead actress, a shorter 'antagonist', and a male lover who walked differently. Brilliant 😃

This was a splendid way to break out from the norm, plus Chithu Shibuttan, and Shimili were relatable and convincing

-The plot was extremely rich with a variety of characters and stories. The grandma-granddaughter conversation on god's color in the opening scene adequately set the atmosphere's tone and eventually provided good morale.

We had great moments of laughter, reflection, and sensitivity:

Chithu and his friends were so hilarious enduring lots of beatings for sabotaging Shimili's marriage proposals.

The ending scenes were quite emotional and very powerful to send a message of unity to both conflicting towns. It was ingenious!

-It's always exciting to see Vishnu Unnikrishnan and he nailed the tough, rough, and aggressive personality.

Bibin and Aiswarya were charming, lovable, and so beautiful together 😍

The supporting cast needs to be applauded for pushing the story forward and adding sizzling and comic elements 👏🏽👏🏽

-Spectacular fighting choreography that accentuated the messy, chaotic, and irresponsible nature of the men in both towns.

The cinematography and set design were splendid giving a real sensation of the electric environments

BLAND

---As much as the film was rich in storytelling, it was a bit hard to connect the relationships between the characters.

The directors knew who was who but they failed to easily communicate that with the audience.

Additionally, there were a few characters that crowded the script without adding much to it, e.g. The nun that Ambady liked, Shibuttan's divorced sister, and Chithu's potential brother-in-law whose segment never got followed through.

Thattikoottu and cliche

"Vedikkettu" directed by Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan falls short of expectations as it lacks the expected comedy despite being their first directorial. This mediocre movie tries to incorporate progressive politics but fails to understand it. Moreover, the cliched love story fails to impress. The attempt to depict Indian caste differences in the background is unimpressive. The movie features all new faces except for the directors in lead roles, making it difficult to follow and understand the characters.

Good elements are Vishnu acting and the heroine actress . Some songs blends well, but reminds too much of Kalabhavan mani.

Overall, "Vedikkettu" is a forgettable movie that fails to impress."

This move deserve more credit than it received
jerrindanykoshy8 May 2023
Started watching this move with not much expectation but this move surprise me as it progressed. It address social issues indirectly through out the move and it is also a movie which talk about the story of the ppl whos stories are rarely talked. Not sure why it was given a less rating as I think it should have gotten 8+.

The story is a love story but with lot of turns and twist also it has some surprises along the way. The acting are decent and the move capture some true real life household day to day stuff which most of the movie done it in a different fashion. Overall the move is a must watch no matter what the rating says.

I think one of the reason why it didn't get that reception is because most of the people will have a hard time connecting with the movie characters but it is a very good and a progressive step towards telling stories of the people who was still not much discussed or talked about.
