Summaries

  • (Series Finale) After a first date, Vince pulls out all the stops for Sophia. Ari and Mrs. Ari take a step forward, and a step back, at therapy. Drama, Turtle and Vince try to convince Sloan to give Eric another chance.

Synopsis

  • In the series finale, Vince delivers big news after spending a night with Sophia. Vince has decided to get married to Sophia. The ceremony is in Paris, and everyone is invited. Vince wants E to be his best man. Vince buys a $1.4 million emerald engagement ring for Sophia.

Melissa comes by and tells Ari that they should inform the kids about their upcoming divorce and that they should do it together. Ari is a complete mess by now. He is not eating or sleeping and is not focused on his work. Melissa asks Ari to attend a therapy session to go over the details. The therapist tells the couple to present a united front to the children. Ari makes one final attempt to save his marriage. At a therapy session Ari realizes that Melissa has broken up with Bobby & tells Melissa that he has broken up with Dana. Melissa admits that she also loves Ari, but fears that her life is disappearing in Ari's work.

It dawns on him what his mistakes were (he was absentee father and husband for years). Ari speaks to his daughter Sarah (Cassidy Lehrman) and finds out that she gave him a music CD of some transfer students from Italy. They are opera singers. Ari supposed to listen to the CD and get them some representation. But, given his work, he totally forgot about it. Ari goes to his office and listens to the CD and loves it. He is proud that his daughter found such talent and had an eye for it. Ari quits the agency and asks Melinda to go to Florence for a vacation. They have enough money for 5 lifetimes. Melissa agrees to take him back.

Drama and Turtle do their best to get Sloan to reconcile with Eric. They tell Sloan that they want her to come to Paris for Vince's wedding. Drama & Turtle convince her to come to Paris, after sweating that E never slept with Melinda.

E is planning to go to New York with Sloan, while Vince wants E to convince Sloan to stay in LA. Vince knows that with Sophia based out of New York, he will also move there. Plus Drama and Turtle would want to be with them as much as possible. Looks like the whole gang is shifting to New York after the wedding. Vince tries on his own to make amends on behalf of E with Terrance. Vince tells Terrance that E never slept with Melinda. And he informs Terrence that Sloan is having a baby with E, which he didn't know already. Vince goes over to Sloan's and tells her that the only reason he is marrying Sophia is because he felt for the first-time what E always felt for Sloan. Vince says that E is a loyal person and has been with 5 women in his entire life. He is even moving to New York, not knowing if he can be with Sloan.

In the end, Vince, Sophia, Turtle, Drama, Ari, and Melissa fly off to Paris for Vince's wedding while E and Sloan fly off together.

In a final post-credits scene, Ari is in Italy with his wife when he receives a call from John Ellis (Alan Dale), the CEO of Time Warner. He tells Ari he's retiring and that he wants him as his successor. The episode ends with Ari pondering the offer.
