Naruto's Stubbornness

Warning: Spoilers
Another episode pass, and the decline in Shippuden becomes more evident. Naruto keeps remembering moments of friendship with Sasuke (flashbacks of Zabuza's arc mainly), and tries to convince him. But Sasuke doesn't care what he says, he won't change his mind. Instead, he asks him to choose: to be the hero for Konoha who killed him or to die and be remembered as a coward. Naruto insists on a third option. The clash of techniques finally ends, and both are thrown away, Zetsu catches up Sasuke, while Kakashi reaches Naruto. Zetsu reveals that he was watching over him, and aware of the trouble, goes to tell Tobi. Obito was with Danzo's body, but the former "Hokage" destroyed Shisui's eye before dying. At least he did something right on the end. Obito then took a new right arm from Zetsu's material, and a glimpse of his face could be seen (everyone should know he is Obito, the haircut, and his right side damaged implies it). He then receives Zetsu's message and prepares to go back to the bridge. There, Naruto is standing from one side, with two clones, one with Kakashi and other one with Sakura. Sasuke is next to white Zetsu. Obito arrives and reminds Sasuke that he told him to take a rest. He also says that they will fight in another occasion, and orders Zetsu (who wanted to capture Naruto now), to leave the Kyuubi to Sasuke. Looks like Zetsu is not strong enough to battle Naruto. Kakashi is alarmed, he can't fight alone against the three. Before they leave, Naruto has decided something, and Sasuke wants to hear it. He reminds him of what he said at the Valley, aboit two strong shinobis understanding each other by fighting. So he tells him to keep his hatred and anger, he can take it. When Sasuke attacks Konoha, he is going to take all that anger and hatred, and if they fight both will die. Sasuke asks why he is so fixated about him (obsessed would suit better), and Naruto answers because they are friends (which stuns the Uchiha). He thinks that if they both die, he won't hold the Kyuubi's burden anymore, and Sasuke will be released from the Uchiha's hatred. This makes Sakura holds her tears, probably because she is broken to the idea of seeing both of them dead (especially Naruto), or maybe because Naruto's words simply touch her. But the cold Sasuke tells he won't die, and Naruto will. Kakashi voices the reasonable logic option, and tells Naruto to stay aside, he will deal with Sasuke. After all, the protagonist has the dream of becoming Hokage, and his sensei doesn't want Sasuke, who has fallen for good, to drag him too. But Naruto refuses, he can't be Hokage if he can't save a friend, he will confront Sasuke alone. Sakura thinks how determined he is, and starts bemoaning her own decisions, that are flake compared to Naruto's. So she chooses to trust them to handle it. Kakashi gives up to his decision, and attempts to fight Tobi with his Kamui. But Obito tells that technique won't work on him, and then proceeds to leave, after sending Zetsu to check out on Kisame. As they vanish, Sasuke says they must talk. Naruto sees them, and thinks that he will be waiting. Sakura thanks him again, and tells to herself that now she still hopes team 7 can be reunited happily again. Here, Naruto's resolve was unexpected, but at the same time predictable. I didn't expect a decision accepting their deaths if they fight. But his whiny incoherent hope to save Sasuke and end like a happy family was what he wanted considering his latest wishes. First, Naruto's decision is inconsistent because it clashes with his dream of becoming Hokage, like Kakashi said. And as repeated by me and many others, Naruto know that Tsunade is the 5th Hokage, and lost her brother, boyfriend, sensei, didn't stop Orochimaru. What about Hiruzen? What about Minato? Who failed to save Obito on that dramatic mission? It's clear, Naruto has become an immature young shinobi unable to accept reality. He didn't learn nothing from Jiraiya. Kakashi should have talked him about his father. Kishimoto really lost his story by writing the protagonist with this stubborness. Then, he is not thinking about the village if he chooses to die with Sasuke. He is not thinking about Sakura (who actually loves him), Kakashi (who lost too many close persons), Tsunade (who trusted him to become Hokage like Nawaki and Dan), his parents (who sacrificed their lives for him), and many other people from Konoha who need him alive, like Konohamaru. To accept death for Sasuke, Naruto is taking the most selfish decision. About his naïve wish (and so Sakura's renewed hope), does he remember the cycle of hatred? Does he think that Konoha, especially Root, the five Kages, the samurais, will forgive Sasuke like nothing? Again, Naruto is being too selfish, egocentric, self absorbed, with a god complex. Like if the whole world would accept Sasuke just because he does. About Sakura, Kishimoto again made her a weak minded character. She felt that her determination was poorer than Naruto's, and so she chose to let him and Sasuke deal with the problem. Wrong. Sakura took the right decision before, she was mature enough to understand the situation. And though she couldn't kill Sasuke, she shouldn't blame herself, Hiruzen couldn't fight Orochimaru the first time he confronted him. And so, to pretend that Sasuke didn't try to kill her, it's annoying and unrealistic. Kakashi was the reasonable until he was "forced" (by the writer) to surrender his idea. He was right too, he held responsibility, and would have been the best person to deal with Sasuke.

On the last part of the episode, back at their hideout, Sasuke asks Obito to implant him Itachi's eyes. As both have noticed, his eyes are losing sight, light, he overused the Mangekyo Sharingan (Susanoo three times a day). When Obito asks what caused his determination, Sasuke tells that he simply wants to crush Naruto at all costs. This was another poor point on the storyline. First, to use someone's else eyes is like cheating, especially if Sasuke has not lost an eye on battle like Kakashi did. Second, he will be taking his brother's eyes, someone who has been dead for several days, weeks possibly. That's not only gory it's also biologically impossible. Also, why Sasuke was granted so many tricks and power ups? He didn't have to overuse his eyes so much, and Itachi survived long enough with the Mangekyo Sharingan. And if Itachi's eyes were so overused, they can't make effect on Sasuke. It's all weird incoherent, unexplainable. And if Itachi got gravely ill, then Sasuke should be ill too in the future. That's the supposed price of the Sharingan.

The end of the episode, shows how Naruto falls down as casually just now the poison of the kunai entered his body. The timing was convenient. Still, Kakashi reminds Sakura who rushes to give him the antidote. This part was funny, and also was nice to see Sakura again taking care of Naruto. For some good reason, she always ends up healing him.
