Glad this was made

This is yet another story around the Holocaust that deserves preserving. The title alludes to the incomprehension of many Jews at the time who thought of themselves as "good Germans." I was privileged to attend the premiere at the Metro Theater on Broadway with Mayor Koch present, and at that time many of the survivors were present. Bless them.

Great doc on the German Jewish experience.

So happy this doc was made. Captures the essence of the whole Washington Heights German Jewish experience. I know Yekke is not a great thing say but, I always wanted to know why they were special or given this slur. This group of people are all now gone and their beautiful, complex and unique culture. German Jews have a reputation or a stereotype that is definitely represented in this doc, but presented to the viewer in most respectful and balanced fashion. So glad I found this gem.
