A nurse from a small town near Naples created a service of low cost buses travelling over night, leaving nurses on site to take the exam at dawn. This is the tale of a special bus full of aspiring workers, each of them carrying their story, telling in one voice their own hopes and fears for the future.
There is a bus that travels every month by night, departing from a small town near Naples, in the South of Italy. Its destination is a city in the Northern Italy. The passengers are not going to a concert, neither to visit an Italian city, famous for its Art. They are all nurses going to pass an examination. It's a competition: this is the only way in Italy to get a steady job in the Public Healthcare System. This bus service is run by Raffaele, an unemployed nurse from this town had a great idea to help nurses like him. He started his own business by creating a special transport service that carries nurses from South to North over the night to the public competitions at very low prices. After the Pandemic outbreak, Raffaele struggles to save his firm from the bankruptcy and decides to get on board of his own bus in order to participate to the competition, trying his chance as a nurse, one last time. The bus is driving through the country carrying Raffaele and a group of other nurses to a public exam with the hope of getting a public steady job and fulfill the dream of a stable future. An on the road documentary about the mirage of a job and the tragedy of a country struggling with unemployment. A journey at the heart of a great social, moral and economic Italian crisis, that today has repercussions over all of Europe.
