This is an update of a slightly earlier documentary about the alleged crimes of Michael Gargiulo. The title is somewhat misleading because he is not the sort of person you would want living next door to you. Gargiulo was a suspect in the apparently motiveless slaying of his teenage neighbour Tricia Pacaccio in Illinois. Relocating to the Golden State, he became implicated in or implicated himself in two more murders, one of his victims having a Hollywood connection.
The documentary makers speak to those involved in building a case against him and the family of his first (alleged) victim. One must never forget the word alleged, however strong the case against the accused appears to be, even if at times the US authorities do go over the top in their pronouncements, something that thankfully cannot happen in the UK. They also talk to Gargiulo himself, though he doesn't actually say much bar protesting his innocence. He is believed to be responsible for other murders, though it remains to be seen how much real evidence there is against him outside of his own pronouncements. He was arrested in 2008, and at the time of writing still has not been brought to trial, which is undesirable to say the least. Doubtless a third documentary will be aired when the legal process has been completed, bar the inevitable appeals in the event of any finding of guilt.
