Having It Both Ways
Here's Robert Bonine in his last year of work as a cameraman for Edison, shooting Honolulu Harbor. He makes it a panorama shot it both senses of the word, the obsolescent sense of a moving shot first, as the craft he is apparently on pulling out from the harbor, and in the newer, still current meaning, of a shot made by a turning camera. There's even a brief bit towards the end in which he reverses the movement of the camera from clockwise to widdershins.
There's an interesting mix of ships, from three-masted clippers to modern -- for 1907 -- steam ships.
