Entertaining but exhausting

This is really one of those films that could use a subtitled version, however it's so obscure that sadly no one put out a subtitled file/edition. Despite the minimal Japanese dialogue, the plot is so abstract and intangible that even those few lines would help if they were translated.

Aside from that, this is pretty much an exemplary Obayashi experimental film (except this one is said to be his most personal), full of strange video/camera effects, weird filters, color alternations, intrusive stop- motion, flashy title cards and short pythonesque animations. The music is also really good. The only problem lies in the fact that the film is too long for the sake of its confusing content.
