I've seen about a half dozen film versions involving . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . the TITANIC sinking, if I count the television Time Tunnel episode (I cannot recall if this was on Beta from the church rummage sale or on a VHS tape acquired at an estate liquidation). However, the most intriguing take on what happened is included as part of Episode 3 of WACKY WORLD OF TEX AVERY. The middle cartoon here, CRUISING FOR A BRUISING, suggests that a common housefly could lead to a sequence of events that wind up scuttling an ocean liner. How could a fly wind up on a ship? One only need to watch BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN to realize that fly babies often infest the sort of grub gracing the galleys of great vessels. I'm sure that the Jones Soda guy just convicted in the Sandy Hook Case would find CRUISING FOR A BRUISING all the evidence he would need to counter the Iceberg Theory about the Titanic's demise. Maybe he could finance the millions he owes for the Sandy Hook judgment by popularizing this alternate Titanic history. Plus Captain Smith would be less likely to sue him.
