Paul Walker in Vehicle 19 (2013)

Goofs

Vehicle 19

Continuity

When Michael goes into the car wash to escape, nobody is there to guide him through the track, to take payment or to set the car wash into motion.

The van comes out of the car wash and is not wet, yet it has not gone through a drying machine and nobody used any towels to dry the van.
The text message giving directions to the car drop-off point is different the second time he looks at it.
Rachel has her wrists tied when they drive inside warehouse #78 but they are free when the car chase begins.
Just before driving into the shop window, the minivan is closely pursued by a police car with no numberplate. Moments later the police car that gets hut by the truck has a numberplate. Also, the front window on the nearby caravan changes from open to shut.
After the vehicle is spray painted the brief reflection in the shop windows shows a small white truck is following only 2 or 3 meters behind. The shot just before, however, showed clear road though the back window with a sedan some 30 meters behind.

Factual errors

The film is set in Johannesburg and Michael Woods tries to visit his ex-wife at the US Embassy . The US Embassy (along with all other embassies) is located in Pretoria. There is a US Consulate in Johannesburg (and also in Cape Town and Durban) but the embassy is in Pretoria.
After the glass is shot in the van, the windows would have shattered into tiny pieces based on the location of the hole and the pressure of the door opening and closing.

By the time the van went through the car wash, the brushes and rollers would have broken the windows of the van with the pressure applied to the broken windows.

During the course of driving through the car wash, the windows do not leak from the holes in the window.
While Michael is getting the minivan spray painted, the windows of the car change from tinted to non-tinted and back to tinted again.

There is no body damage on the van from being in a car chase or from being shot.

There is no blood on the windows from the woman being shot.

The red paint would not dry as fast as it did and the shine would not be glassy.

With the van going as fast as it did through the streets, there would be smears across the van body and windows from the paint and there would be massive over-spray on the windows from being improperly covered during the painting process.

The amount of preparation needed to do a very basic paint job is about 3 hours.

For the paint to dry to a semi-dry state of being non-smudging or tacky would be about 7 hours.

The paint to have a glazed and shiny look with need several applications - as well as a sealant, hardener and a glass finish to be backed in a heated room.

The final result would not be finished with minutes - but rather days.

Michael's van in the last scene would not have the shine and paint quality as it did - because of the lack of preparation set up and base coats and clear coats and hardeners and heat applications used.

Revealing mistakes

When the Toyota car is flipped in the first car chase, the air cannon used can be seen on the underside of the car.
The police car that rams into the minivan has no red marks on its dented front bonnet. This would be expected even if the van had not just been freshly re-painted.
When the black police ISUZU crashes into the drinks fridge at the supermarket, the van reflected in its chrome side mirror is not all red.
When they drive away from the warehouse, they are being chased by a Toyota and a BMW. The BMW crashes and then there's just the Toyota left. But when the Toyota is about to take over the minivan, you clearly see the BMW badge on the hood of the car for a second outside the side window.
Just before Michael is checking the 'missed message' on the Blackberry phone, we can see he is actually looking through the image library.

Plot holes

With police vehicles approaching directly in-front of him, Michael decides to cut in-front of them and drive into a car wash.

With police already given the description of the vehicle, they would have already known to follow the van - even if it was an error in being a suspected vehicle in a crime.

The police would have followed the van who suddenly veered away from in-front of them and the car wash would have been surrounded by police by the time the van came out of the car wash tunnel.
