Powerful & thought provoking
pbfieldgates19 May 2011
A much needed film that tackles the dire issues facing many prisoners on release in California, but which could apply to any state or nation. Themes of hope, uncertainty and despair are atmospherically supported by creative imagery and a haunting score. Whilst the film doesn't attempt answers, I would expect it to provoke many questions and much thought and debate on what is an important, serious and relevant subject, not only to criminal law professionals and legislators, but to all who hope to understand a hugely challenging social issue of the day. The lead actor does well in portraying the swings of mood, whilst the skillful camera-work and editing complete an impressive short film that deserves attention and success. Highly recommended.
