- Jedda agrees to become N'Dama's protege, the Weather Demon, in exchange for help in saving her father's life.
- Though Kurt Walker failed in his mission to destroy the Phantom and has lost the powers he possessed as N'Dama the Weather Demon, Ming believes he can still be of use to him. As part of his plan, Ming has sent Garax and the Ice Robots to Africa to obtain a substance called Zantax 12 and contacts Garax to ask for a progress report. Garax tells Ming that the mission has been accomplished and he will have the Zantax 12 by nightfall. Meanwhile, Kurt is still out for revenge.
The Phantom and Jedda (who are also in Africa) see a light in the trees and decide to investigate, leading to them being drawn into a confrontation with Ming's forces. During the battle, they are helped by a monkey they name Little Guy who, Jedda learns via her telepathic powers, was separated from his family by the Ice Robots. However, despite Little Guy's help, both the Phantom and Jedda are captured and taken on board a nearby robo-ship. Kurt witnesses this and, determined to make sure the Phantom won't perish by any hand other than his own, boards the robo-ship as the hatch is closing, followed by Little Guy.
Later, Octon tells Ming that Garax and the Ice Robots have captured an additional prisoner, to which Ming replies that he was counting on Kurt being unable to resist a chance to destroy his brother. When the Phantom, Kurt and Jedda arrive at Ice Station Earth, all three of them are taken to Ming's Deep Freeze Chamber, where the Phantom is placed inside a barrier. The temperature within this barrier will slowly be lowered until the Phantom freezes to death. Kurt retorts that he should be the one to kill the Phantom, but Ming silences him, adding that Kurt and Jedda will be subjected to the same fate, bringing the Phantom line to an end. Little Guy appears on the scene via a ventilation shaft and Jedda has him sabotage Ming's equipment, causing a power outage.
While Ming is distracted, Kurt takes Jedda's hand and starts to lead her up the corridor, with Little Guy tagging along. Jedda protests that she doesn't want to leave her father, but Kurt says he needs her more. Presently, Kurt, Jedda and Little Guy find themselves in a corridor where laser guns emerge from the ceiling and shoot at them. Titanium bars then appear across their path to impede them, but Jedda and Little Guy manage to get clear. However, when Kurt attempts to follow them, one of the bars pins him to the wall. Using a mirror from her pocket, Jedda redirects the beam from the nearest laser gun to cut through the bar, freeing Kurt, though she makes it clear that she only did so because of the blood ties between them.
Shortly after, Kurt, Jedda and Little Guy reach a communications room, where Jedda manages to get through to Rick at Monitor. However, before she can tell Rick where she is, Ming intercepts her transmission and metal bands emerge from the arms of the chair she is sitting on, restraining her. Kurt frees Jedda to even the score between them and she tells him she is going back for the Phantom. But when she tries to leave the communications room, she finds a giant robot named Menakor (which Ming has sent after her and Kurt) lying in wait. Kurt says the only way he and Jedda can defeat Menakor is for him to get to the Golden Chamber and turn back into N'Dama, but they need a diversion which Little Guy provides by running towards Menakor.
Reaching the Golden Chamber, Kurt enters it and becomes N'Dama once more. As Menakor looms over Jedda, Kurt emerges from the Chamber and single-handedly defeats Menakor, blasting it to pieces with his powers. Jedda then begs Kurt to help her to save the Phantom and Kurt says he will do so, but adds that she must be willing to pay the price. Asked what that price is, Kurt says Jedda must give up her claim to the Phantom title. Jedda is left with no choice but to agree to Kurt's terms. At Monitor, Flash and Rick discuss the Phantom and Jedda's disappearance and conclude that, since Dynak detected one of Ming's robo-ships in their last known location, the Phantom and Jedda must be at Ice Station Earth.
Meanwhile, Ming deliberately lets Kurt overhear him telling Octon that the Zantax 12 could massively increase the powers Kurt possesses as N'Dama. Kurt and Jedda meet up at the Deep Freeze Chamber, where Kurt destroys the barrier surrounding the Phantom and revives him. On learning of the bargain Jedda was forced to make, the Phantom tells Kurt he has gone too far this time and the two brothers start fighting. Jedda tells the Phantom she cannot go back on her word, but Kurt then says he is prepared to release Jedda from the bargain if she and the Phantom help him to obtain the Zantax 12. The Phantom is suspicious of Kurt's motives, but Kurt will only say that he will not bother his brother and niece again if they do as he asks.
With help from Little Guy (who enters Ming's vault via an air vent and opens the door from the inside) Kurt, the Phantom and Jedda gain access to the Zantax 12, which Kurt snatches before sealing the Phantom and Jedda into the vault and making for the Golden Chamber. The Phantom uses his Ten Tigers power to break down the door to the vault, and he and Jedda hurry to intercept Kurt, who has been battling Ming. Kurt enters the Golden Chamber with the Zantax 12 in his hand and emerges as a demonic creature, but as Ming knew would happen all along the Zantax 12 increases Kurt's powers so much that the energy unleashed kills him. The Phantom, Jedda and Little Guy flee from the resulting explosion and are picked up by Flash, Rick, LJ and Kshin who have flown to Ice Station Earth in the Terry.
