A well-connected, hip-hop, 30-year old becomes Mayor of Detroit. In short order, a Renaissance begins with the Mayor landing a Super Bowl and Final Four in addition to enticing three corporations into relocating to downtown Detroit. While riding an unprecedented wave of prosperity, the Mayor has a political sex scandal with a subordinate and brokers several illegal backroom business deals. In order to keep these activities secret, the Mayor commits even bigger crimes, including extortion, bribery and obstruction of justice.
Meanwhile, the dysfunctional City Council spends most of the day bickering with each other on public access television. Many of the council members are unqualified and were elected because of their fame or family ties. The unpolished but, educated Council Pro Temp along with her eccentric political consultant solicit bribes in exchange for the passage of favorable legislation.
To make matters worse, the Governor and Attorney General conspire to bring down the Politicians in power in an effort to take over Detroit.
