Help?!? I must have hit the end of Netflix!!! It's like someone made a Spanish, Teenage, Fast & Furious?!? But as a TV SERIES!!! Sorta?!? It's actually not terrible - but fairly cheesy nonetheless!!!

Severely underrated

Warning: Spoilers
First four paragraphs have no spoilers

This show is a bit cheesy at first, however, the drama towards the last episodes had me completely hooked. I understand that many car enthusiasts may find it unappealing as the races probably won't satisfy your need to rewatch Tokyo Drift.

On the other hand, the story is incredible, honestly, way better than the storyline of Fast and Furious,

Mexican audiences will enjoy it a lot more since we barely get any racing shows or movies based on our culture.

In the end, I cannot comprehend how this show is so unknown, it might need better advertising because it is definitely worth a watch.

- Spoilers ahead

It definitely opens up for a lot of discussion, Abel is unable to pay the debt that he owes and turns to crime in order to be able to open his church. He's turning to malicious acts in his efforts to spread religion, which he justifies. He feels so strongly about it due to his immensely troubled past and how he found peace through God.

After being unable to settle the debt, he got rid of his life's work (his auto shop) and used it to create a religious temple, further demonstrating the strength of his faith.

What I'm getting it at is that you could really go into detail about religious brainwash, especially Noche's relationship with Rebeca, which he justifies by calling it "God's plan." And I think that betraying Abel after everything that he did for him and Kike was very messed up, however, we can see the extent to which Noche's morale is troubled by this and how much it hurt him to follow his heart, hoping to get Abel's forgiveness before running away with Rebeca.

This leads me to my next point, as cliché as it may sound, we can really see how love is the worst drug of them all, with Abigail betraying her father to be able to run away with Kike, and Kike betraying Abigail because he wanted to avenge his father. On Abigail's first encounter with Kike after he imprisoned her father, the first thing that she asked was if their love was real in the first place and not just a plot to put her father behind bars.

Further proving my point, Abel tries to forgive Noche like he's done a thousand times before, but is not able to handle the anger of losing his wife to Noche, and betrays his own faith of which he bases his entire life around, by killing him.

You could also argue that Abel is a complete psychopath who just so happens to be a pastor, since in the end, it is revealed that he's the main suspect for the death of Kike's father, Elias, in the first place.

My honest rating would be around 7 stars but I want to help boost it.

Pretty awful

As another reviewer said - a spanish/mexican fast and furious type affair.

Probably not so bad if you are not a car person but as a lifelong petrolhead there are so many cringe moments that barely left it watchable. By that i mean the cars they use, the terminology, the action shots when the car is clearly going slow etc.

I watch a lot of foreign language shows and this is at the lower end of what i would call a recommendation.
