- Secrets are revealed on Redemption Island and the second duel reduces one castaway to tears when he is eliminated from the game for good.
- Previously on...: Boston Rob took the lead at Ometepe, and he found a hidden immunity idol clue and told no one. Phillip and Kristina seem to be his only obstacles. At Zapatera, Russell formed an alliance and sought the idol, without finding it. Last week, Zapatera threw the immunity challenge to get Russell out, leaving his allies to fend for themselves while he awaits a duel at Redemption Island.
Redemption Island: Matt is surprised to see Russell, who tells him the tribe threw the challenge just to throw him out. Russell is also annoyed that they lied to him about who was waiting at Redemption Island. Russell believes Matt is "going to be nervous as hell" to go against him.
"Right now this is his house," Russell tells us. "I'm about to take it from him."
Ometepe: Phillip wakes everyone up with his early-morning sweeping. Rob takes note of Phillip's "pink tighty-whities" saying, "it's not only disturbing, it's disgusting."
Phillip tells us he knows the young people in camp don't understand him. Phillip says another side of him is going to have to emerge.
Zapatera: Stephanie and Krista are feeling pretty isolated in their tribe, but they're convinced Russell will take care of business to stay in the game. Meanwhile, Ralph takes his alliance and shows them all the hidden idol. Mike is excited, knowing that having the idol will make it tough to Russell to stay in the game even if he comes back.
Redemption Island: Phillip gets the note about sending two people to Redemption Island. When others aren't excited to go, he decides to do it. Kristina joins him.
At Ometepe, Sarita is excited to get a chance to see Russell go home for good. Ralph goes, too.
Russell says that in the real world he'd be rooting for Matt, but it's different because "this is 'Survivor.'"
The duel: The players have to arrange blocks like dominos on a railing that will shake and fall if they hit tripwires. The first person to get them all set up and knocked down to the end.
Matt lines up his dominoes first and takes a chance on tipping his row, but comes short of completing it, so he has to start over. Russell takes a shot, but also fails.
On his second attempt, Matt nails it and Russell is out of the game. Russell tips his hat over his eyes and starts to cry while everyone looks at each other in the awkwardness. Matt even extends an arm to pat him on the back.
Russell says he respects the game too much to go out this way (with his team throwing the challenge just to get him out). He says it's like being a professional quarterback with "pee-wee leaguers on your team." Ralph takes issue, and announces that Russell didn't give up the idol clue. Then Ralph goes on to say he found the idol 15 seconds into the game. When Sarita tells Ralph not to show the idol, Ralph claims he "faked" it. But Phillip doesn't buy it, and Russell spills more info, telling Phillip and Kristina about other alliances in the Zapatera tribe.
Russell's last words: "It's terrible when you play with people that didn't really come here to play the game. They just came here maybe for fame or just for the money. This is my last time playing this game, that's it. I have nothing else to prove to myself or to my family."
Matt goes back to wait for his next opponent.
Phillip is glad to have the interesting information Russell provided.
Ometepe: Rob makes up a game after telling everyone they should have a "beach day" so that can create some space between himself and the rest of the group in order to search for the idol. He says he's having stomach issues so he can go hunt for it. He's been gone about 15 minutes when he finally finds it and heads back to try to avoid suspicion.
Zapatera: Sarita and Ralph return with the news that Russell is out, which makes Julie happy. Sarita tells that Russell threw back the covers on everything about their tribe. Stephanie and Krista are still moping because Russell's gone.
Ometepe: Phillip comes back telling Kristina not to share the info about Ralph having the idol. Kristina decides to sit back and let Phillip do it all.
Phillip then takes Rob and Grant for a walk and tells them everything about Ralph having the idol, but he upsets Rob and Grant with the suggestion that Kristina should stay in the game.
Immunity challenge: Julie is worried about having lost momentum because Zapatera threw the last challenge. She's worried about karma.
Using a tool kit to dig, chop, saw and hammer their way to the finish line of an obstacle course -- all with a hearty nod to Craftsman tools. Also up for grabs is a barbecue set, including food.
Zapatera gets out to an early lead and holds it while Phillip struggles with the sawing portion of the relay. Ralph turns out to be the champ of the tribe and Rob shoots a glare his way.
Zapatera: The winners partake in their feast while knowing the other tribe is talking about who's going home.
Ometepe: Phillip calls another tribe meeting and Rob later tells us that there's an animosity toward Phillip that is palpable. Kristina thinks Phillip is so annoying that she might have a chance to stay.
Natalie finds it odd that Kristina is not searching for an idol. Rob tells the group it's time to get Kristina out. He tells people to split the vote, with three votes to Kristina and two votes to Phillip, trying to play up the possibility that Kristina has the idol.
Grant is still worried about Phillip, saying he thinks he should go first. He talks to Rob about the idea.
Rob wonders whether he's really in control or whether someone on his tribe might flip and vote Phillip out. Phillip says he might have to make a move at Tribal to keep himself in the game.
Tribal Council: Natalie talks about "second chances" and mentions that Kristina is a "really nice person, and we'll see." Rob pipes in and says Kristina wasn't really a part of the tribe until recently.
Kristina says the tribe should vote out the weakest link, and points out Phillip as a disruptive presence. Phillip goes into a big speech about why he should stay.
Kristina pleads her case, saying she's a valuable member, she's smart and she can help.
The vote: Phillip writes down Kristina's name and she returns the favor.
Jeff reads the votes: Phillip, Kristina, Phillip, Kristina, Phillip, Kristina, and ... the fourth person voted out is Kristina.
Kristina's last words (for now): "I just got my rear end raked across the coals at Tribal Council."
