The 2nd edition of The Inner Path, a festival on Buddhism, will be held from September 6 – 10 at Iccr, Azad Bhawan, New Delhi.
Organised by Netpac India in association with the Asoka Mission, the festival celebrates Buddhism through films, art and philosophy.
Kim Ki Duk’s Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… And Spring, David Grubin’s The Buddha and Acha Dayal’s Land Of Buddha are some of the films to be screened during the five day festival.

For many readers, the name Jasper Sharp is familiar as a leading voice in Japanese film criticism, co-founder of MidnightEye.com and author of Behind The Pink Curtain, the Complete History of Japanese Sex Cinema. Last summer, over a couple of late night pints at his incredible, one-of-a-kind film festival Zipangu Fest, Sharp told me about a documentary project he was developing on plasmodial slime moulds. No, I had no idea what he meant either, just that it sounded awesome but I was sworn to secrecy.Earlier today, however, Sharp formally announced the existence of The Creeping Garden, co-directed by himself and documentarian Tim Grabham (KanZeOn), and boasting an original score from Sonic Youth's Jim O'Rourke. “KanZeOn”, opening the Japanese Zipangu Festival in London on Friday 18th November, is less a documentary and more a spiritual experience. Its title coming from an alternative reading of the Japanese name for the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Kannon, (which literally translates ‘as ‘she who hears the cries of the world’), the film is an exploration of sound and its links with and role in Japanese Buddhism. Directed by Neil Cantwell and Tim Grabham, the British production is indeed hard to pin down or categorise, though in the best possible way, and has enjoyed a successful run at a variety of international festivals. Shot in and around Kyushu, the 87 minute film is structured as a series of chapters or incantations, and revolves mainly around three fascinating figures and musicians – Akinobu Tatsumi, a young Buddhist priest who takes care of a temple near Kumamoto City and spends his spare time as a rap DJ,...
