When the robbers start following the string up the stairs, the string disappears in the shot of them walking up.

When the robbers are at the top of the stairs looking down at Dot her left arm position changes from being fully extended (as shown when she first falls), next shot it's tucked down and her legs are on top of one another as if she is sleeping (as the taller robber removes his hood to reveal his face), and then back to being fully extended and her legs apart.

When the husband comes in, the skate is an inch away from the stuffed animals by the half wall. When the cop comes in, the skate is a foot away from them.

Although cruisers and officer's uniforms are labeled "Scandia Police," no such organization exists. The City of Scandia, MN contracts with Washington county for police services, so Officer Olmstead would actually be a deputy and the car she drives would be marked, "Washington County Sheriff."

When Munch gets to the gas station, he shoots the glass out of the entrance doors. But moments later, there Is no glass in the frame of the doors. But such remaining glass undoubtedly would have been jagged and therefore would have presented a potential hazard to cast and crew. The director must have had all the glass removed in order to eliminate any threat to those going through that doorway.

Though Deputy Olmstead is wearing gloves at the crime scene, she still shouldn't be picking things up.

The state trooper after stopping the stolen pickup sees Dot roll out the rear door, handcuffed, run toward him in terror, and asks only a casual Are you all right ma'am? as she races past, instead of then doing anything whatsoever about the fact that he's nabbed a stolen vehicle, with driver and passenger still inside, and someone has just escaped from them.
