70,s style camp
dadatuuexx25 January 2012
I must miss the 70,s ,because ,to me, this movie was fun.It really looked like it was shot on 16 mil. film stock, and a lot of time went into this look. With sets looking like the time period, and things like magazines, newspapers, clothes, etc. The whole thing had that shoddy 70,s look. The story is better than you think your going to get.As a boy,we went to the drive-in movies 2-3 times a month, and this was the type of flicks we,d see.The acting was bland, the gore was there, the hooters were out,and the guy in the bad suit making his screen time low. Now,i cant say this is a good movie, but i,ve seen worse.Remember,i am a person who enjoyed "Curse of the Bigfoot",and watch LOTS of bad films.i was ready for a film of such measure, and thats what i got.If you liked these movies back than, you could do worse with your hour and a half. You could go pay 10 bucks to see todays re-makes of movies that did,nt need to BE remade.

It's...not good
OctoberMr23 November 2015
Without using any tech-speak, I thought the imitation "old film" style resembled '70-'73ish more than '79. Same for the hairstyles and telephones (prototypically), although the houses, cars and clothes were more modern. Excellent job creating the '70s feel.

HOWEVER, that's about the only positive I can give to this product. I would have loved watching it when I was, say, 9-15 again (as I was in the '70s) and not critical of any movie. Even though I love good schlock and drive-in material, this one seemed either thrown together in two days and apparently (even if not true) written by a young first-timer that wasn't at all serious in his effort. Better luck next time, Mr Steve Sessions. I'll spare anyone reading the details about the acting and script except to say "high school buddies have some fun pretending to make a movie" just about sums up the viewer experience.

I feel like I'm being generous with a "3" rating, given solely for accomplishing the made-in-the-'70s illusion fairly successfully.

Definitely 70's...

I must say they did a very good job of recreating the 70's. The editing fX used to make the film being played on VHS or older reel-to-reel look pretty good. Unfortunately the rest of the movie was not. I happen to really like really campy and cheesy movies. Yet. I'm on the wall with this one. The acting for the most part is really shotty. The female lead "Sarah French" plays the role well, But the script is very weak. The week script could have worked in this movie if there had been better cinematography. Overall a Very Amature film that could have been produced by high school students with a High school students budget. i will not say this is a horrible movie, but i definitely will not watch it again.

One more thing,,, The soundtrack is actually pretty good. Who ever wrote the song did a good job recreating the time period.

Cheers, OSP
