I saw this short at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The lead actress, who also wrote and directed the piece, gave a phenomenal, soulful performance. The supporting actors fell a bit flat (except for the two women in the office, they were fine).
The short had some flaws. Mostly in the main villain's actor being cartoonish in his delivery, and the final shot of Ms. DiTroia-Velasco's impeccable monologue is slightly out of focus.
However, for a directorial debut this was a cut above the vast majority of shorts I've seen, and I believe that Ms. DiTroia-Velasco will have a bright future as a filmmaker.
