Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Lily Tomlin in 80 for Brady (2023)

Goofs

80 for Brady

Edit

Continuity

When the ladies are at the game, the woman sitting in front of them in the stands changes from one scene to the next.
The kickoff time for the AFC Championship game was 6:40 p.m., but the game footage the ladies are watching shows the game taking place at night. [Note: this is correct as the sunset in Boston in late January occurs around 5:00 p.m.)] However, it is clearly daytime at Lou's (Lily Tomlin) house.
When the girls break Maura out of retirement home, they show a shot of all 4 in the car. The next shot shows Betty in backseat alone; Maura is no longer in car.

Factual errors

The contestants in the Hot Wings eating contest are shown adding hot sauce to their own wings before eating them. In most Hot Wings contests, the spice level on the wings would be controlled by the contest during the prep time, as the wings would be coated after frying in a sauce with a particular heat level. Allowing the contestants to add the hot sauce themselves would introduce a random element that the contest could not control - a contestant could easily fake adding a lot of sauce, and instead miss the wing. And if the wings were prepared properly by the contest's cooks, there would then be no need for the contestants to add more hot sauce; in fact this would be counter-productive. Preparing the wings in advance under supervision would be the only way to have a fair contest with a controlled heat level.
Lou tells Tom Brady that she remembers him as the "skinny rookie" who won the Super Bowl. Brady was in his 2nd year.
The tickets could have been tracked through the credit card used to purchase them, which belongs to Lou. Actual tickets aren't as important as they used to be. If she handed her credit card to Will Call (maxed-out or not) or even her ID, they'd have gotten the tickets. [This presumes that the tickets had not already been used by others to gain admission to the game.]

Anachronisms

When Maura (Rita Moreno) is having her photo taken in front of the backdrop, the photographer uses a Westcott FJ80 flash. The movie is set in 2017, but Westcott didn't produce the FJ80 flash until late 2020.
