When Kenny is at the outside cocktail party and gets another drink and puts a cigarette in his mouth, it's unlit. When he turns to greet Rachel Hill, the cigarette is now lit and in the next scene it's again unlit and Kenny lights it up.
When Paul Jennings is shown arriving in Reno to investigate Washoe Mining, he has a big zit on the front right side of his neck. In scenes depicting various pieces of the investigation and interrogation of Wells, which are to have occurred hours later, the blemish is gone.
When Kenny and Mike are in the river showing the investors how to pan for gold, a mostly smoked cigarette suddenly pops into Kenny's mouth.
When kenny and mike talk 'money' at 22.15, a shot goes from both men staring at each other, to the next shot, where kenny stares right, at 90 degrees.
When Mike Acosta explains the tectonic plates rubbing and grinding up on each other, he mentions that they do this under "Six trillion kilobytes of pressure" which is incorrect. Pressure is measured in kilo-pascals not kilobytes.
The diamond core drilling is being carried out in obviously limestone country which is usually not conducive to gold. Yet when the core is removed from the core barrel it appears to be a granite or diorite of igneous appearance.
When Kenny Wells arrives in Jakarta, the long shot of Jakarta busy road is clearly contemporary. The taxis are all blue, the color of the popular Blue Bird Taxi brand in Jakarta. Yet the next shot, when he gets to his hotel, the taxis are suddenly all yellow and the car model is much older.
Present-day cars are seen driving around in some scenes.
There is no hotel named Jakarta Palace in Jakarta; the river that is clearly seen from the lobby where Kenny first meets Acosta doesn't exist, it's the Chao Praya in Bangkok and they are meeting in the Shangri-La Hotel. Similarly the scene of the meeting with "Danny" Soeharto also happens in an impossible location for Jakarta, and is again on the Chao Praya in Bangkok at 'The Siam Hotel.'
With the exception of a few establishing shots, none of the scenes set in Reno - nor the views from windows - feature locations or views actually in Reno.
