Stewie is apparently a descendant of Leonardo Da Vinci, but da Vinci never had children.

Da Vinci is shown painting the Mona Lisa on a canvas. It was painted on wood.

Bertram and Stewie are only related through Peter. To kill Stewie all Bertram would have needed to do was to go back in time and kill Lois before she had him.
