- The final castaways participate in their last immunity challenges and are questioned by the jury before the jurors vote for the one million dollar winner.
- Jeff explains that Dan, Fabio, Sash, Holly and Chase are an unlikely final five. Dan has been ineffective, but is liked by most everyone. Holly flipped out, stole and sunk Dan's $1,600 shoes and nearly quit, but turned around to become a leader of a big move against Brenda. Chase has voted out every person he aligned with. Sash was all but gone on Day 28 after his closest allies quit, but he made deals with everyone left to get to the end and now he's "back in contention." Fabio is in the deepest hole, facing elimination as he's on the wrong side of the numbers game when it comes to alliances.
"After 36 days of surprises," Jeff says, "the biggest are yet to come."
Fabio starts plotting to break up Sash, Holly and Chase and goes to Holly first, asking if she wants to go to the final three with him or Chase. He promises he'll "go out fighting, unless someone else has a better plan." His plan is to "try to win immunity."
Fabio next goes to Sash, who tells Fabio "what he wants to hear." He tells Fabio he'd like to go to the end with Chase, "just like I'd like to go to the end with you." Sash talks to Chase about how Fabio is nervous and confirms they are going with "the same plan as always." Chase says that if Fabio loses the next immunity challenge, he's going home.
Immunity challenge: The players must answer three questions about Nicaragua and each answer option contains a bag. One bag has puzzle pieces, the other has blank pieces. They have to run each bag back to their puzzle base. That's when they'll learn if they were right or wrong. If they guessed wrong, they have to go back and get the correct bag.
Everyone gets the first question right, but Fabio is the only one to get the second question wrong. He has to catch up as Holly, Sash and Chase all have their third bags and start working on the puzzle. Dan is also way behind. Fabio finally gets his third bag and has to make up time as Sash is making good progress on the puzzle.
Fabio catches up quickly and it's down to him and Sash, and Fabio wins it. Chase realizes he was missing a piece and it was on the ground under his table.
Holly admits Fabio's win put "a monkey wrench" in their plan. She's still hoping it's an easy vote and she wants to vote out Dan.
Back at camp: Everyone's high-fiving Fabio at camp. He's planning on swinging things in his favor, and he wants to get Sash and Chase to vote against Holly. Chase tells Fabio that everyone on the jury likes Dan. Fabio goes and tells Dan that Chase wants to vote him out. Fabio realizes he has to get Sash alone. Dan wants to try to convince Sash to vote Holly out. Dan tells Sash that no one will vote to give him the money because he's already got money.
Fabio pulls Sash aside and tells him they should vote Holly out. Sash thinks Fabio's idea might make sense. Holly asks Sash what the plan is and she's surprised to see that Fabio is in on the plan to vote Dan. She's nervous and all she can do is trust her alliance "and hope that my name isn't written down."
Tribal Council: Fabio says the vote will come down to who's the biggest threat to win the $1 million. Dan says he doesn't think anyone is going to give him $1 million because he has money. Holly admits she's "afraid" that there are votes coming against her. Dan lists the reasons Holly would be a threat, because she's from South Dakota and a town that has 1,100 people.
Fabio says a lot of the women on the jury respect Holly and "she's a pretty cool lady," which is why she could take votes for the $1 million. He says it's a compliment, and Jeff agrees, but adds, "it's also a warning."
The vote: Dan, Dan, Chase, and the 14th person voted out is Dan.
Dan's last words: "I wish them the worst, and I can't wait to cast my vote."
Back at camp: The final four celebrate their accomplishment. Fabio knows he's going to need immunity again the next day. Sash and Chase tell him they're "on the same page," regarding the three guys going to the end. Sash says he truly believes that he's getting to the end regardless of who wins immunity.
The next morning Chase and Holly talk about how they're still "100 percent" still on the plan to vote out Fabio if he doesn't win immunity. If he does, they'll have to catch up afterward.
Chase and Fabio then go for a walk and Chase tells Fabio he feels comfortable voting with Fabio.
After reading their Tree Mail, they head off to the Rites of Passage, where they commemorate the memory of all the players who went before them.
Final Immunity challenge: The players have to hold a sword, point down, with one hand and stack coins onto the flat top of the handle. Players whose coins fall will be eliminated.
Fabio has a close call, but recovers well. A bit later, one of Holly's coins falls and she's out. Chase is out on the next coin.
Fabio's stack seems more uneven than Sash's, but when Sash goes to put a coin on the stack, he knocks a couple off and loses. Fabio wins his third consecutive immunity challenge to guarantee a spot at the final Tribal Council.
Back at camp: Fabio is giddy about watching all the paranoia playing out in front of his eyes. Holly takes Chase on a water run and Sash talks to Fabio about how Holly seems nervous. Fabio plays coy with Sash about what his plans are. Sash admits to us that he's "as desperate as I've been." Sash tries to list all the votes for Chase that are on the jury.
Fabio tells Chase that Sash was trying to turn Fabio against him. Chase is upset. Fabio realizes that Sash has long been "willing to tell anybody anything." Fabio asks Chase directly if he would have brought Fabio to the final three and Chase tells him it probably would have been him, Sash and Holly.
Holly then talks to Fabio about how "Sash has played a tremendous game." Fabio tells us he'd rather not take Chase or Sash to the final.
Tribal Council: Fabio is all smiles and Jeff notices. Fabio says it was "funny" to watch the three-person alliance each try to give their pitch for a final spot.
Fabio recounts his conversation with Sash, who claimed he would have taken Fabio to the final but Fabio saw "right through it." He tells Jeff that Chase admitted the truth. Sash says he isn't afraid to admit he's had many alliances with many different people. He says he's been "more committed" to Fabio in the past few days. When Fabio asks Sash if he would have brought him to the final, Sash says, "I believe I would have," which makes Fabio laugh.
Holly tells Jeff that she told Fabio that Sash would be the biggest threat in terms of jury votes.
Each player makes a last-ditch pitch to Fabio, who must decide, essentially, who he wants to sit next to in the final vote.
The vote: Sash, Holly, Holly, and ... the 15th person voted out is Holly.
Holly's last words: "One things I know is that my family and my true friends back home are going to be truly proud."
Back at camp: Fabio says it took him 38 days to get into a powerful position, and he still feels like he has a bit more to say to the jury, "and I think they're going to be receptive to it." Chase also says he's excited to bring his thoughts to the jury. Sash notes he got called out on "pretty much everything in this game."
Sash says he doesn't think Fabio or Chase "deserve to be in the final three" because he thinks he played the best game. He tells Fabio and Sash he's "honored" to have them as his wingmen, which cracks Fabio up. Fabio later tells us, "Sash, you can take a back seat, man. I'll let you take notes on how this is gonna go."
The next morning they enjoy a hearty breakfast. Chase tries to pump up Fabio's confidence by telling him he's got the $1 million sealed. They burn the camp to the ground.
b]Final Tribal Council: Chase makes his opening statement and urges everyone to "bring on the questions," saying he knows "some of you are pissed at me." He assures them he'll explain why he did some of the things he did.
Fabio says he asserted himself when he needed to by winning three immunity challenges. He also says he didn't backstab anyone.
Sash says he played differently than Chase and Fabio, and says the final vote should come down to strategy. He says the friendships he's formed are more serious than the alliances he had to break.
Brenda kicks off the jury's questioning by grilling Sash on his breaking of alliances. He apologizes. She calls Chase her "snuggle buddy," and says she had an emotional attachment to him and says she was shocked at how easy it seemed for him to go along with the plan to vote her out. He claims he tried to stand up for her but had no option. Sash shakes his head and says Chase could have stood up more. Brenda tells Sash he could have done the same.
Marty goes next and asks Chase who should win the "Dumber Than a Bag of Hammers Award," and Chase says it's "kind of a B.S. question" and refuses to answer. Marty tells Sash he's a strategic player, and tells Fabio he's changed the most as a person and as a player.
Holly asks Chase what his "best strategical move" that he made in the game on his own. He says he took a chance to vote Shannon out and play instead with people he could trust. She asks Fabio if his immunity challenge wins were "too little too late," and he says no. She asks Sash if he ever lied to her, and he says he did when he voted against her even though they said they wouldn't vote against each other.
Jane tells Sash somebody raised him to be "a New York City gutter rat." She tells Chase she's still "totally pissed" at him, but he made her time fun. She asks Chase what he'd do with the money and he says he'd give $100,000 to cancer research in honor of his father.
Benry congratulates everyone but calls out Sash's "fake smile," and he asks Sash why he didn't team up with him and Sash says he didn't think Benry would take him to the final.
Dan tells Sash he's spineless and hates his smile and that he should go to the doctor to get his eye fixed so he can get rid of that wink. Sash winks at him. He calls Chase the most paranoid player in the game and he "backstabbed everybody." He tells Chase, "beauty fades, dumb is forever."
Purple Kelly asks Sash to explain in 60 seconds how he outwit everyone. He says he should have been voted out at the merge, but he made the alliances he had to make to stay alive.
NaOnka tells Fabio it's been a pleasure cussing him out. She asks Fabio is seeing his mom at one of the challenges gave him fuel to get to the end and he begins to cry talking about how much he thought about his family. Brenda and Benry are both seen wiping away tears.
Alina tells Fabio she doesn't want to give $1 million to a boy but to a man. She asks Sash why he should win and Sash says Fabio was often out of the loop and Chase was "wishy-washy." Chase says he wasn't being "wishy-washy," he was making sure he didn't go down with his alliances. He says Fabio got through "by not knowing what was going on half the time."
The vote: Marty votes for Fabio while calling Chase dumb and Sash a "weasel." Alina votes for Chase, saying he impressed her at Tribal. Dan votes for Fabio, saying, "I want you to do that for your mom." Brenda votes for Chase, saying, "I hope that you win, and I am really proud of you."
At the live reunion show, Jeff reads the votes: Fabio, Chase, Fabio, Chase, Chase, Chase, Fabio, Fabio ... and with one vote left, the winner of "Survivor: Nicaragua" is Jud "Fabio" Birza.
In a season that started as "Old vs. Young," Jeff notes that at age 21, Fabio is the youngest winner in "Survivor" history.
