Sex & Nudity

  • A young woman flirts with a young man. They have a conversation while she is in the bathroom. He lays down and looks under the bottom of the door. All that is seen are her feet. She then lays down and they touch hands while looking at each other.
  • A young woman and young man arrange to have sex later in the day. They later kiss and embrace. Before anything more can happen she breaks off the embrace intending for him to follow her, but he leaves.
  • A young woman puts on makeup, including a large amount of lipstick, in order to impress a young man. She follows him to a bar where she strikes a seductive pose within eyesight of him. The man's two drinking companions make mildly rude comments about the sexual virtue of the woman.
  • A husband and wife fall on a bed and kiss.

Violence & Gore

  • A man punches another man, causing him to double over and smash his face into a bar room table. The injured man gets a piece of glass stuck in his neck which he then removes, causing blood to spray on the man who punched him.

  • A young man spills champagne on his shirt and later sucks some of it out.
  • Three men shown at a bar with drinks before them. One of them later references being drunk. A woman orders a creme de minthe.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The bar scene contains more blood than is usual for a Masterpiece adaptation.
