Continuity

When Jack and his family first arrive to the their hotel The Imperial Lotus, there is a welcoming banner on display in the lobby with Jack's picture on it, along with 2 other men. Jack's picture is on the far left, a black and white picture of an older man is in the middle, and on the right is a picture of a younger man with short brown curly hair (this man also happens to be the man Jack witnesses being executed by the rebels in front of the hotel right after the rioting begins because he is an American). Then later on in the movie, after Jack and his family make it across to the other roof, one of the leaders of the rebels spots Jack. The rebel is wearing the welcoming banner around his neck, he then holds it up and shows Jack the picture of himself, but now the banner has changed. Jacks picture is still on the left and the middle picture is the same, but the far right picture is no longer the young man with curly brown hair, its now an older man with gray hair and glasses.
When Annie is barricading her hotel room, she walks towards the door with shoes on. However, when she pushes the stuff against the door she is in her bare feet.
The quantity and position of the blood stains on Annie's jacket varies several times between scenes.
When Jack breaks through the gate at 1:04, he does so by breaking the cross piece that is threaded through the handles. The door is dangling open, and half of the piece is visible on one side in several shots. Suddenly, the piece is whole again, and threaded through the doors, which are now closed, even though none of the characters touched it.

Factual errors

The scene after the tank shoots the building, the person on the microphone is clearly speaking Khmer (Cambodian), not Thai. He says, "You cannot run, we will shoot to kill". Some scenes have the people speaking Thai.
As the family enters Vietnam in the boat, the Vietnamese soldiers warn off the rebels by shouting at them in English. In reality, they would have spoken Vietnamese, Khmer or even French, but never English.
When the rebels are trying to get into their hotel room through the connecting door, Annie braces herself against the door to hold it closed. But the door frame indicates that the hinges are on the other side so the door couldn't readily open towards her.

Revealing mistakes

In the wide shot right before Jack returns to the hotel, a rebel is seen bludgeoning a fallen police officer. He's quite clearly hitting the ground.
During the time when they are getting onto the Vietnamese patrol boat, right after getting off, Annie repeatedly hugs Jack pressing her hands all over the bullet wound in his upper back even to the point that her fingertips would go into it with no response from Jack.
During the initial confrontation between the police and the rioters, you can see the rioters thick "wooden clubs" flex, indicating they are made out of rubber.
Whenever the rioters are speaking the caption says they are 'speaking foreign language'. But in their country they are speaking the language of that country and it is the Americans who are the foreigners and who are speaking the foreign language. This is typical of the arrogance and ignorant racism of the Americans and the American film industry.

Miscellaneous

When Annie Dwyer jumps from the roof she touches the ground and rolls. It is easy to see that the stunt double's knees don't touch the ground, but at the and of Annie's roll her knees are all bloody. A different cut of the scene would not show this.
Given the timing of events--the "17 hours earlier" note when the Dwyer family had 11.5 hrs left on their flight, the fact they arrived in the dark, and the fact the meeting between the prime minister and the water executive happened in the dark--the meeting (and assassination) must have taken place at an odd hour, in the middle of the night or early morning.

Errors in geography

The country in question is not mentioned but supposed to be somewhere in SE Asia. Sometimes we can hear the 'rebels' speak or shout in Khmer, some signs are in Khmer but some signs are also in Burmese and then someone speaks about Kampuchea but on a few occasions we hear people speaking Thai while they have to cross the border to Vietnam. Thailand doesn't share a border with Vietnam.
The story takes place in an unnamed Southeast Asian country, which is implied to be either Thailand or Cambodia, but the map on the wall at 53:20 is a map of Taipei, Taiwan, which is over 1300 miles away. Later, when they point out the US Embassy on the map, in real life, that location is a riverside park. The actual location of the AIT in Taipei in 2015 was in the vicinity of the shaded red area and red box up and to the right.

Character error

When the youngest daughter and her mother jump from the roof the child actor is smiling and laughing when they are landing in stead of showing fear.
After the men hit the wife and try to rape her, it clearly shows that her mouth had a severe hit, then after they are saved and taken to a safe place, her face shows spotless as if nothing happened, while her husband's face clearly shows traces of blood. See on time 1:14:01.
The "British CIA" character (Brosnan) advises the Dwyer family to go to Vietnam and "apply for asylum". This is not an appropriate term and a secret service agent of sorts would know that. Dwyer (Owen) later echoes this advice, but that is in itself logical: he is an engineer and does not (need to) know anything about international law.
