Movie Magic & Mysteries: The Making of Sherlock Jr. (2010)

Brad Brooks narrates this highly informative documentary that takes a look at Buster Keaton's SHERLOCK JR.. Right at the start we're told that this was one of Keaton's lowest grossing pictures from his silent era and then we go into great details about the production.

These stories including the various trick shots that were performed to give the illusion that Keaton was walking into and off the screen, the possibility that Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle directed some of the movie and how the film became one of the most loved from Keaton decades after his death.

There's certainly a lot of great information packed into the 23 minute running time. There's quite a bit of talk about Keaton's relationship with Arbuckle and we get a quick rundown of what happened to his career. There's no question that the highlights are when the film itself gets broken down and we get to see how they did the various trick shots in the movies. Fans of the film will certainly enjoy this.
