3 convicts pretending to have changed their ways after "getting saved"; sentenced to pastor a church; they encounter real people and a real God that touch their hearts.
oremery20 November 2012
This movie is fantastic! I couldn't stop laughing! My whole family went to see it and we all enjoyed it. It's definitely a unique find when you can watch a title that all ages and walks of life enjoy watching. It's safe for the whole family to see, and anyone who watches it won't believe it's a faith based movie from the quality and detail the cast and crew produced. It definitely carries a powerful message. Before we try to throw people into church programs, they need to experience the power of God. This movie carries that message with a fun and lively storyline. There are moments you'll cry laughing, and moments you'll feel in the depths of your heart, because the characters are so relate-able. They ask real-life questions and find real-life answers through a real encounter with Jesus. Everyone should see this movie! AND see it again!

Jesus' blood may forget your sins, but you will wish you forgot watching this
calhoun-974824 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As a Christian, I have to say most Christian entertainment is just terrible and poorly written, directed, and produced. Maybe 5% of all Christian media is actually good. And by good, I mean something that people who expect something to entertain them could enjoy that doesn't insult them at the same time. And also something that even non-Christians could enjoy because it's just a good film.

But people who have never sat down and watched anything in their lives or who had very low standards could only enjoy this film.

The basic premise is three ex-cons get pulled over in a small town for reasons that are hard to understand. One of the three ex-cons ends up hitting a police officer in the back of a head with a bottle of liquor, which he got, for some reason, from a palm reader. This ends up in the officer arresting them, finding a heap of unpaid tickets in the glove compartment (played for comedy but only appeals to crickets.) So they get arrested.

But they get off on the condition they provide community service to a local church. One ex-con will be the new worship leader and another ex-con will be their new preacher. I forget what the third did (and I just watched the movie) because the plot line is so vapid that you want to memory erase it from your head as soon as you see it. Oh, and all three ex-cons will get to live in the church patronage for free, because why not.

Keep in mind none of these ex-cons are Christians. The so-called preacher is an avowed atheist.

And then there's a hot young woman in charge of putting them to work, which they all have instant lust for. Such a Christian movie. There is a scene later in the movie where it's revealed one of the members, who got them out to do community service, is stealing money from the church with the plans to build a mega church and turn the ex-con atheist preacher into a televangelist. Then the ex-con atheist preacher quits, because he's found a better way of life because he's got the hots for the woman in the church.

This is not a Christian movie. It's such a tired trope that the godless man comes to fall in love with a good Christian girl so he sees the error of his ways and gives his life to God. That is not Biblical. Jesus saves, hot women in the church don't save.

There is a scene in the movie where God gives the atheist ex-con preacher a vision, but the scene instead of being inspiring only is offensive. God is portrayed as a comedian, making light of salvation and redemption.

The ex-con preacher realizes that God gave him a plan to take down the plots of the man who was stealing money from the church. The next scene revealing part of that plan? He and the worship leader (who has a beard) dress up as women and go to a bar to seduce him and trick him. Yeah, so now not only in a "Christian movie" have we gone from an atheist becoming a preacher of a church with no pastoral training at all, lust being the driving motivation for the main character, and now cross dressing, which is against the Bible, and deceit. And the worship leader didn't even shave his beard when he dressed up as a woman. And the guy they are targeting is turned on by this.

If God actually gave that ex-con athiest preacher a plan, it wouldn't be so un Biblical.

Who wrote this tripe?

This was produced by the World Revival Church of Kansas City. Yes, it was written by their pastor, Steve Gray. They actually had a relatively entertaining skit show that aired on local TV in the KC area in the early/mid 2000s that wasn't polished but was decent. But even the devil can put on a good show and appear as an angel of light, so what?

If this is what a popular church in the area is producing, then I will go with the Bible-you will know them by their fruit. This is rotten fruit, and puts into question the entire ministry of one man and his wife. And the saints falling for it and thinking this is good entertainment are the blind saints, indeed.

If you are a God fearing Christian, do not watch this movie. It is unsufferable and no matter how much I gave it a chance to redeem itself, it only slid further down a slippery slope into something awful. If the pastor reads this review, I hope he gets on his knees and repents and calls out to Jesus to show him who He truly is. I will be praying for pastor Steve Gray, too. Becuase the day is going to come he has to stand before God and answer for what he wrote and produced with this movie. I hope by then the pastor has it under the blood and it's forgotten. If you watch this movie, you will want to forget it, too.

Funny and touching
jims-284-906925 November 2012
This is a crazy premise, where the judge puts these cons in charge of a church for their rehabilitation. Soon into the movie I bought into the characters and found the wild plot a lot of fun. I really did laugh out-loud several times. Loved all the hypocritical church members and other commentaries on our society. This is very different from any other Christian film I have ever seen. Richard Speight Jr is a natural for the Pastor, he wants to have fun, then wants to do a good job but so funny how he says bizarre prayers and practices counseling people, love it! Victor Raider-Wexler makes a great judge, and Murry Gershen as the insulting bailiff. Irma P. Hall as Sister Louise is very convincing as the loving caring true Christian who is willing to help rather than judge and control like everyone else. Thumbs up!

Hilariously fabulous film! We were rolling in laughter!
lobell200521 November 2012
This film is full of roll on the floor humor. Seriously, just consider 3 con men running a church! Yeah...that was what drew us in. But what we found was oh so much more! It had all the things that make a movie great like love, honor, good guys, bad guys and lots of funny quotes you'll find yourself sharing without all the sex and foul language of most modern films. The filming and dialogue kept us engaged with the characters and drove home the story line. Finally something that wasn't a cartoon full of teen antics that I could take the family to enjoy. I hope this movie company has another feature film coming soon! I'll be looking for more from this writer/producer. My tween left the theatre saying the movie was a keeper and let me tell you that in this day and age that is no small feat. So frequently what we as parents see as good family content loses our kids so I was impressed that my daughter loved the film as much as I did.

Fun and laughter for the entire family!
KCMusicGeek9 February 2013
The first time I saw this movie, I was curious about how it would compare with other family friendly movies with such serious, sometimes depressing, stories with horrendously bad acting. I was pleasantly surprised by 3 Blind Saints. This is such a fun movie with lots of familiar faces. I laughed out loud several times and so did the family members that watched it with me. We're all ready to see it again! Richard Speight, Jr.'s character is hilarious and I love the grounded character played by Irma P. Hall. I'm also happy to say that this is a movie you can watch with the entire family without having moments of wishing your children (or parents) weren't watching it with you. Great fun, great music and definitely some moments that will catch you by surprise. If you're looking for a movie with a good message that the entire family can watch, you'll want to check out 3 Blind Saints!

Awesome!!!
prudsax201227 November 2012
Loved every second of it.

The choir reminded me of my old choir at my old church where we had this lady who couldn't sing, but no one wanted to hurt her feelings, so the sound guy lowered the microphone without her knowing, he felt bad but we didn't want to kick her out of the choir.

Anyways, the movie was hilarious from start to finish. I absolutely loved it. Thanks so much for such a great movie. It was worth the wait to see it :) If it comes out in theaters in my area I will definitely make sure to see it even though I have the DVD.

Check this movie out guys, again, its awesome and funny!

A captivating family based comedy
tjordan386 December 2012
The movie has high quality definition. Many films with a much higher budget don't produce this great of picture.

The writer Steve Gray has done a tremedous job on the screenplay. The humor he demonstrated throughout the entire movie kept the audience rolling over in laughter. This was the writers first work. The way he put together this film was amazing. I have seen many movies with more experienced writers. Many of these writers don't compare to the quality of this entire film.

The beginning of the movie was good but almost appeared to display poor acting. Immediately the film turned and the acting was more intense and professional.

The movie in general was excellent. It was a movie that would keep you on your feet with excitement and laughter. The humor was clean, fun and direct. It presented a good message while adventure and comedy worked together. This is a must see. It is highly recommended that the writer continue his Endeavourers to keep writing good movies with a message and humor.

Harmless, cheerful and uplifting movie that anyone can watch and enjoy.
Nessa_Fitzgerald9 July 2014
Three convicts try to get out of jail by saying that they've realised the error in their ways and have been 'saved'. They are released to the custody of a local business man who has them working as ministers in the local church. Frankie works with the kids, Jamal has the job of trying to fix up the truly awful church choir, and Sam is the preacher. Needless to say, none of them are too keen on this job, but working in the church helps them to truly realise the error of their ways, especially when they uncover a plot to destroy the church using money stolen from the church's collection fund. A great and harmless movie that everyone can watch. It's not specific to kids or adults, which is something that's becoming increasingly hard to find these days.

Great Christian Movie
kman200510 September 2013
3 Blind Saints is a surprisingly great movie. Let's face it, traditional Christian films have catered only to one crowd, yet I have seen Christians and non-Christians alike love this one. I laughed, cried, and shouted victory during the movie. The entire plot is outrageous and at the end of the movie I actually couldn't believe that a film was actually made that would point out some hysterical parts of the Christian church. If you are looking for blockbuster Hollywood special effects, then this is not your movie; but if you are looking for a hilarious Christian film (and maybe tired of the Tyler Perry rehashes) that is full of jokes, drama, and yes, even makes fun of the Christian church a time or two, try this one--you won't regret it!

Humorous and Heart-Warming
bernadetteflaws7 September 2020
As much as I absolutely respect Richard Speight and everything he is involved in, I would be lying if I said this movie was flawless.

The acting, overall, was satisfying. Each individual played their part well and delivered their lines VERY well. The storyline was interesting and the ending was appropriate for the flow of the movie.

But...that's kinda my issue: the flow of the movie.

Everything in this film moves SO fast. Things happen and there doesn't seem to be a reason for them. Characters change their minds about each other over the simplest of things and change their ways for simple reasons.

Yet, because of this issue, I don't believe the actors receive the recognition they deserve. Each person in the film successfully portrayed their character and their quirky personalities wonderfully. Each character was unique and not necessarily predictable. This was my favorite part of the film.

Overall, I recommend you watch this. You may or may not like it, but I hope you appreciate those who were involved and the hard work went into the making of this movie.

Excellent movie for the family...
sandy-meredith-7723 February 2013
Finally a clean and funny movie for all ages. It has all the elements of a family film. There are the good guys and the bad guys. There is love and sometimes not so much love. It's funny but at the same time there are parts that open your eyes and make you think about reality. The wisdom of the characters also shone through as well. The music is great. The movie holds your attention and no one in our family (ages 4 to 54) was bored or disengaged. The first time we watched this as a family (three generations). Now owning the DVD we can watch it anytime. It's a movie the kids can watch and we don't have to worry about the content or language. I highly recommend this movie and hope to see more from this author and production company.

Good for the whole family
douggeorge0410 September 2013
I don't watch a lot of movies because they put me to sleep. Wow not this one my whole family has watched this movie at least 4 times. It is a funny, yet to the point movie I recommend it to every body. We were able to invite my brother over to watch it one night and we ended up talking about the movie for days, laughing and telling others about it. This is a movie that no one is too young or too old to enjoy. It has comedy. A touch of romance. Serious points. A little bit of everything. Its part of what kept my attention. Very well put together. 3 blind saints is a perfect name to the movie. The actors fit their roles very well. I also like how it was filmed locally by our church.

Like an old Bill Murray movie
posingasmeontumblr31 May 2021
Remember the old Bill Murray, Steve Martin, Martin Short style movies? If you enjoyed them, you'll love this. Richard Speight, Jr and his amigos are delightful. You can definitely see the old SNL heyday comedies' traits shine through. It's rare now. Take a chance on this one on a day when you want something very light and enjoy the banter.

Hilarious! Great for the whole family!
kgeorge200410 September 2013
3 blind Saints is a great movie for any family to watch. There aren't many movies nowadays that no matter how old you are or how young you are you can sit down together and enjoy a movie without fear of bad words or bad scenes or vulgarity or anything else. We love watching a movie that has a lot to laugh about yet have seriousness and a touch of romance. It was interesting to watch how some people may see church folks. It was also sad to realize that it is to true in so many churches across this country. Overall I enjoyed the whole theme of the movie and was glad to watch it. If your a church goer of any type this is a great movie to go see, I would definitely buy the movie again and give it as a gift. I would also get a group of people over at my house and have a party and watch this. It's a great ice breaker for those friends who are having a rough time about church.
