Decent Short Comedy
theorkinman15 November 2010
I just saw this short film at the Daytona Beach Film Festival. It played back to back with several other shorts. This one was actually one of the better ones. It was well written and edited with several laugh-out-loud moments. The pacing was good, and the characters were well acted. The two male leads were perfect compliments, and the female lead gave a passionate performance. The sound in the theater needed a bit of tweaking - sometimes the speech was hard to make out and other times it was very clear - but overall a delightful little 10 minute comedy that brought us back to levity after watching a short film about an 8-year-old with a terminal illness. 8/10

Cute, funny short comedy

Ariel's voice and lines were great! Easy, funny short film, humor about youth. Good cast, played off of one another well, nicely written, well put together. There seemed to be a little glitch in sound shortly into it, but that may have been my system?? Some open laugh out moments. Modern version of the Honeymooners in it's stage sounds. Worth watching. I am rather short on words but this review system requires me to come up with a minimum of 10 lines of text, so the remainder of this will be devoted to my complaining that I don't have an easy time coming up with a word per minute of film to describe my feelings too many action verbs required; I liked it, I would recommend it, I would watch it again. I feel like I am in school all over with the required "1000 word essay". It's amazing I managed a 4.0 in English considering the writing required!

Cute story with great direction, although slightly stale acting

I liked how original the story line was, and it had a great way of blending everyday situations and characters with whom viewers will identify with a slightly out-of-the-ordinary plot. The intro had a great use of music, sound effects, and lighting, especially how it kept changing lighting and camera effects. Although it may not have been the most appropriate, I would have liked to see more use of these camera effects. The actor playing Tommy did a great job of playing the stereotypical arrogant jerk whose character is a great compliment to the actor playing Stuart, even though I would have liked to see Stuart have more physical expression of emotion. Overall, you can tell that it's an amateur work, but it's fun and definitely worth watching.

Two guys and well....a girl!

Nicely edited film short that falls, short. Unfortunately the decent acting from Ariel is lost due to the lack of cohesiveness between Stuart and Tommy. The sound is a huge issue with this film but, is only part of the problem. Lack of attention to detail make this seem like the actors just showed up and ran through their lines without any understanding of the characters. The look is good but misses the mark with distractions from moving shadows from behind the screen partition and reflections in the pictures. The story has merit but, loses its appeal because of all these factors. Cleaning up the audio and using tighter cuts will improve the shortcomings, but you still have the acting to contend with.
