Unflinching emotional season opener
shmitty-7905018 September 2022
For the sake of not spoiling, I'll summarize by saying this episode was hard to watch and they didn't let you shy away from what can be the gruesome reality of war. Very intense opening scene picking up where bravo was ambushed and the immediate aftermath. Some pretty good acting and I'm guessing some good direction by 'those who know and have been there' about how to fight through, wether you're hit or your buddy is hit and then how everyone else is impacted later.

Have been enjoying this show for years and I'm admittedly a military guy so I like to 'is this accurately portrayed' check the show. Seal Team crushed it on this one.

Brutal and emotional

A brutally raw episode of SEAL Team that is really a roller coaster from the moment it begins, picking up from the previous season finale and pushing viewers into a nightmarish scene that unfolds in real time. I wasn't ready for what unfolded. The directing and depiction of battlefield trauma was noticeably more graphic, intense and difficult to watch than probably any previous episode of SEAL Team - certainly beyond what CBS would have approved if this had aired pre-Paramount+. That's commendable, even if it's hard to see as a viewer.

The scenes with Clay are absolutely brutal to watch. For a show that has (sometimes to its detriment) manufactured an enormous amount of personal character drama in previous seasons, this episode was jarring in how real and genuinely damaging it felt to both the characters and the viewer; for the most part, we're there with Bravo, waiting for that helicopter, waiting for a nurse, waiting for the phone to ring.

Alona Tal (Stella) brings one of her best performances of this series in this episode, from immediate reaction to later handling a FaceTime call. You can feel her overwhelming anxiety. Same for AJ Buckley (Sonny), who takes his character to places we haven't really seen before.

Yes Seal Team is back, the last bastian of manly man tv.

And it was fantastic if like me you've followed bravo from day dot.

Would loved to give a rating of ten but it's a nine simply because i think the show is gonna deal with the after effects of war for the next 2 episodes so i reserve my tens for them.

As i stated, this show is properly the last tv show ever that doesn't promote todays mental social issues. So will properly be the last.

So if this is to be the finl season then bring it on, bravo will 100% be back in the fight by episode three and rays on point with sonny always getting the rear.

finally back

Awesome show and got even better than they starting cursing lol... it became much more realistic...

and coming back from last mission, things got bad and it was an emotional episode.. like another reviewer said, it is interesting they are focusing on the humane part of war and consequences of operators getting injured... one thing i do not miss tho, is ray's wife bossing him around, dude saying his ptsd is alright and wifey telling him to take care of it... lol

anybody imagine if it was an emotional situation for the woman, like her losing a baby or something and her having problems with it, getting jaded and all, and dude telling wifey to deal with it, take care of herself so she can take care of others? Lol... guess that aint happening, right.

The ending was kinda expected if you actually saw the first couple of minutes of the episode...

hopefully this last season will be a good one.

why!

Clay's injury is one of the stupidest things about this part of the series If this would be the last season of the series, it would have been better to end the series with all the members of the Bravo team Especially since the battles will miss a large part of their value with no clay I think this is the last season, but I am angry and upset about the perception of the events of the series. It may be Clay is not the hero of the series, but his role was influential in the events inside and outside the fight.

I will keep watching the rest of the episodes but with less enthusiasm and we will see what happens.
