There are stark comparisons to the cult film, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD in this very creepy episode. No kidding.
Steve and Amy head to the small town of Bluffton, South Carolina and meet with a young couple who have recently opened a restaurant on genuinely haunted plantation land. To give this couple a very unwelcome welcome, the wife, Michelle, suffered both a heart attack and mild stroke just as they opened their business.
Best part of the show is the how and why, Steve's in depth research on the property as to what occurred there --two centuries ago. Being a history buff, this is the part I have always look forward to, especially if there's a historical significance. The original owners of the property, back in the 1700s, were a wealthy farming family, but not for long. At one time, they employed 100 slaves, but rebelling enemy troops invaded the land, burned the house and slave cabins, killing many. Those slaves who did not survive, according to Amy, apparently haunt the land to this day.
In the most revealing scene, even causing Steve to do a double take, Amy's psychic sketch shows countless slaves marching across the land like zombies -- definitely horrific shades of "Night of the Living Dead." Amazing. Additionally, there were other "marked" owners of the property, including a maniacal killer (about a century after the plantation fire) whose spirit also refuses to leave. The man is the biggest threat of all, also responsible for Michelle's health problems and especially determined to force them off the property, if not kill them.
Amy recommends some common paranormal solutions to both Michelle and her husband, Julio, but will they take her advice?
Lessons learned; do the research, especially on property with a long history. Watch this very strange and atmopsheric episode.
