Ring of Honor Wrestling holds their next pay-per-view on Friday night with Roh Death Before Dishonor 2018. This is the 16th Roh Death Before Dishonor event and is one of the original Ring of Honor special shows, originating way back in 2003. As a matter of fact, that first show featured current WWE superstar Samoa Joe in the main event as the world champion. Other Roh Death Before Dishonor shows featured wrestlers like Cm Punk, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan (2008), Cesaro (2008), Seth Rollins, Tommaso Ciampa (2014) and Cody Rhodes (2017) in the main […]

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that since January, the WWE has been talking to the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, owners of Ring of Honor Wrestling, with the hopes of purchasing that promotion. Talks are said to be in the opening stages and, similar to the conversation the WWE had with Impact Wrestling before Anthem Sports purchased that company, may turn out with no change in ownership.
As a fan of both organizations, I'm conflicted by this news. There are some performers in Ring of Honor who would be amazing in either the WWE or the Nxt brand. Adam Cole for one would be a huge aquisition for the WWE. While rumor has it he's already WWE bound, having him come into the company and acknowledge the work he's created in Ring of Honor would do a lot to establish him for the casual WWE audience.

Roh
Just a few hours before many expect to see him make a surprise appearance at the WWE Royal Rumble in Orlando, Aj Styles made his final appearance for Ring of Honor Wrestling in Augusta, Georgia on Saturday evening.
Styles did not wrestle at the event, instead coming out to make a farewell to his Roh fans prior to his embarking on a run with WWE.

Styles has spent the last couple of years as one of the biggest names on the global wrestling scene, outside of WWE. Following his departure from Tna in 2013, he became the Iwgp Heavyweight Champion with New Japan Pro Wrestling while also pulling double duty wrestling for Ring Of Honor back in the United States.

The television ratings are in for Destination America’s Wednesday night professional wrestling lineup, and the results have to be seen as negative for both Ring Of Honor Wrestling and Tna Impact Wrestling.
The first-run episode of Impact Wrestling that aired at 9:00pm Eastern garnered 264,000 viewers. The replay of the show, which was broadcast at 12:00am Eastern, drew an additional 63,000 viewers. When you combine both airings of the show, Tna drew a total of 327,000 viewers this week. This is actually identical to the total amount of viewers Impact drew last week. While on the surface that might seem like a positive with Tna currently airing taped matches from the past (they haven’t taped any new episodes of Impact in several weeks), it’s actually quite the opposite. This week’s number is tied for the company’s third lowest viewership since moving to Destination America.

We begin with a recap of last week’s main event and already the presentation has improved by leaps and bounds. The production is slick and polished, but the overly dramatic music is still pretty cheesy and takes the shine off a little.
Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are standing by the entrance ramp discussing last week’s main event, and announce tonight’s main event will be Davey Richards against his training partner Kyle O’Riley
And then we have a perfect example of everything that’s wrong with wrestling by cutting to a promo of Mike Mondo, aka Biff from Back To The Future. He tells people not to crowd him “’cause I take up a lot of space”. I actually rolled my eyes at that one. Basically the whole promo is about how strong he is and Mike thinks he’s the “biggest man in town”.

This latest episode of Ring Of Honor Wrestling was recorded from Loiusville, Kentucky, and right off the bat we get treated to a little sample of how Roh’s new show is slowly adding to its presentation style. We see commentators Nigel McGuinnes and Kevin Kelly on screen broadcasting together for the first time. It’s a nice touch, giving Roh a little more legitimacy as a contender in the broadcast stakes, and also charmingly reminiscent of Joey Style’s old backstage area in Ecw. There’s even a chain link fence in the background. They tell us that the show’s main event will be Jay Lethal’s first defence of his Television Championship against Mike Bennet. I have to say, its really cool that there is a title match each week, it gives it a real big fight feel every week.
