Wanted to Like It More

Really wanted to like This One Time at Space Camp more...The Astraeus candidates are undergoing their final interviews which involve personal flashbacks which support why they want to go into space. While is it a fun idea to see where our now-well-known characters came from, the fact that these are stories from their childhood precludes performances from the actors we have grown to care for. We are instead presented with a multitude of child actors of varying actual skills and screen presence which makes it difficult to really care for or even be interested in what is happening on screen during the related vignettes. The crisis of the week has a curious familiarity to its manifestation but the journey is more fun than the destination on the resolution front. The subplot of Jack and Allison appealing the results of their relationship audit, is palatable (largely because Wallace Shawn is awesome), but still pretty annoying since the entire concept of a relationship audit Global Dynamics style, was so ludicrous the first time that a revisit just reminds the viewer of how unpleasant the previous episode (Clash of the Titans) was. Knowing how good a stay at well-run Camp Eureka can be, made this one a bad camping experience.

Too much

We are just supposed to forget that Zane was curled up in a fetal position last time he went to space and why do we need to make smart, strong, capable Jo into one more wanna be a scientist character. I hate when all the characters in a series become the same.
