Great Romantic "Music Video"

I saw "Alone" at a screening of another film. Totally surprised as it wasn't on the program. The other film was a suspense film and it was way too long. This film, which was (I think) less than 5 minutes was really interesting because it started out showing a rather simple scene of a group of college-aged students eating at a Chinese restaurant. So that I won't spoil the story - I'll just write my observations on the film.

It's got a really cool soundtrack titled "I Spy" - which is the POV of the protagonist ("K"). Infatuation...fantasy are some words which come to mind in trying to describe the protagonist's POV.

The film was shot with a couple of DSLRs. I forgot what the filmmakers said - other than it was using both a Nikon and a Canon. The cinematography is really done well - especially the camera angles and the framing. I noticed some shots were filmed using an extreme wide- angle lens and controlled depth-of-field.

Having seen this short film first made the second longer suspenseful film a lot "weaker" in visual style and presentation of ideas.

10 of of 10!
