- A Texan ranch owner starts out to pay off his cowboys, and he is captured by four outlaws. His horse, carrying the money in the saddle bag, runs back to the ranch house, pursued by an outlaw. The ranch owner's daughter, Nellie, a child of ten, captures the "bad man" in a most ingenious way. Then mounting her father's horse, little Nellie dashes off to the rescue. She meets the outlaws, overhears them telling how they have tied her father to the rocks and that a slow burning fuse, connected with a keg of powder, will blow him into eternity if the money is not brought back by their messenger. Now follows the most thrilling chase that has ever been put into a motion picture. The plucky little girl dashes through bush and over rocks closely pursued by the outlaws. Nothing can stop the brave child. She goes across a river on a rope, then runs afoot for the rocks. She comes to the edge of the cliff. The rope on which her father is suspended offers a way down. Without a moment's hesitation little Nellie descends to where, a hundred feet below, her father faces a terrible death. The child frees him, and an instant later the powder explodes. The father and child escape, and later reach home, where the cowboys are gathered after having captured the outlaws.—Moving Picture World synopsis
