Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Daniel Huttlestone, and Nell Williams in London Town (2016)

Goofs

London Town

Edit

Continuity

The semi final was played at Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea, so the tickets being printed by Chelsea would be correct. However, the date is wrong - FA Cup Semi Finals are in April NOT August.
While learning to drive the main character is practicing to operate a standard automobile but when he does get into the car and puts it in gear its an automatic transmission.

Factual errors

On the train scene Johnny is seen listening to a first generation Sony Walkman, which was was first released in the UK in 1980. However, the movie is set in 1978.
Shay is seen playing the Clash's debut album whilst singing along to White man in Hammersmith Palais, the track was never included on the UK version of the LP.
Joe Strummer is shown wearing a leather jacket with a star stenciled on the rear, when in actuality his motorcycle jacket was undecorated.

The band did occasionally use a variation of that logo on promotional material, but only after the release of their 1980 'Combat Rock' album. It didn't come into common use until the band's demise, appearing on t-shirts and badges etc.
At the Clash gig the band are shown performing with a backdrop of Union Jack flags. The Clash did use a flag backdrop during this period, but it consisted of a multinational selection of flags not solely the British flag.
In the queue for the Clash gig (1978) a man can be seen wearing a camouflage jacket with large Velcro patches on the arm. That is a modern design, first issued to the military in 2010.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Dougray Scott (the father) tells Shay that he has two FA Cup tickets for the match between Chelsea and Leyton Orient. Later on he tells Shay to look inside an envelope which he has left on the counter of his piano shop. Inside are two FA Cup tickets for a match between Arsenal and Leyton Orient. Bizarrely, on the top of the ticket is printed the word "Chelsea".

Anachronisms

In one of the street scenes a row of Clash posters promoting a gig at "The Hall" are clearly visible on a wall in the background. The posters are dated 1978. They copy imagery used on an authentic Clash poster used to promote a run of New York gigs in 1981.
The second Clash album "Give em enough Rope" is visible (albeit blurry) in the background in the shots of Camden Market, released in November of 1978, a few months after the events of the film.
During the rehearsal session after the Anti Nazi League concert in 1978, The Clash are shown performing Clampdown, a song which in actuality wasn't written until early the following year.
