This episode is a classic.
Hello there again it me RegularShow1 and today I'm Going to talk about the first of Regular Show which is The Power which Aired on Cartoon Network on Monday, September 6, 2010. This episode is very funny . The episode is about Mordecai and Rigby playing wrestling with a doll named Bean Burrito and Rigby runs a hole in the wall. So the two try think of plan to cover the wall but Rigby has better Idea. He tells Mordecai tells he got this magical key broad from a wizard. Rigby realizes he Mordecai can do anything they want until they run in to Skips. A side note when I first watched this I thought Skips was a Villain in the show. Anyway back on topic Mordecai and Start to send Skips to his room but Rigby accidentally send him to moon. Bottom Line GREAT EPISODE 10/10 stars.

The episode that started it all. Mordecai and Rigby accidently punch a hole in the wall and have to fix it before their boss finds out. Gives an excellent feel of most of the core characters of the show

CRAZY!

A very good start! In just the first scene we can see the personalities of our protagonists and their relationship with each other. What follows after that is crazy. A good episode.

Hilarious first episode

This episode was a powerfully funny episode of a 2010s classic. Lots of swearing like h**, c***, and s*** are used by the characters. Reminds me of a surreal painting. This episode shows Quintel was a clever creator of his time. This episode started Cartoon Networks Renaissance and saved it from it's first dark age.

"Don't look at our crotches while we synchronize our watches!"

Warning: Spoilers
While the first "Regular Show" episode that I saw was "Just Set Up The Chairs", I previously watched one preview of this chapter, and I thought that it was way too weird, even for the usual standards of the recent shows from Cartoon Network. When I finally had the chance to see the entire episode (After having a very good impression with other chapters from this series) I was surprised of how good this was, being in many ways the perfect introduction to "Regular Show" that any casual viewer could have. (Well, there was also the pilot, which was included in the second season, but that's another story) The Power song(Which I saw on the first preview) was excellent, having much more sense in context, rather than just seeing it as an independent clip unrelated to anything.

The plot of this episode was very funny and enjoyable, and the way in which the characters were introduced was pretty good and satisfying, being one of my favorite chapters from the entire "Regular Show" series.

"The Power" is a perfect choice for anyone who wants to start to watch "Regular Show", mostly because it captures perfectly well the overall mood, weirdness and sense of humor from this series.

1x1: The Power

Warning: Spoilers
Wow easily one of the best pilots of a tv show let alone a cartoon. The chemistry between the cast especially Mordecai and Rigby feels so genuine and fluid and they feel like they have been lifelong friends since the opening scene. What I love about this show is the plots usually start off not slow but just with such a simple plot like playing a game and putting a hole in a wall or in the following episode they are just setting up chairs. That's what makes this show it's starts off simple and then escalates in a direction you never see coming like a magical piano. And I think Glenn from its always sunny says it best in multiple interviews, a lot of shows are missing shock factor and that makes you want to come back to the show for the unexpected direction it goes in similar but different to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Probably the best cartoon to use the technique and I love it. This episode is no different and is the episode that got me into the show for the unusual plots and very real feeling characters especially when you put into account they are a blue bird, raccoon, gum ball machine, etc. What an introduction and much more amazing episodes to come. Easily a 10/10 and a great foreshadow on what this show is gonna produce on going throughout the shows run.

Powerfully Awesome Start to an Awesome Tween Cartoon

Warning: Spoilers
Hi this review will be on Regular Show's first episode, "The Power." This episode is about when after Rigby accidentally made a hole on the wall, both he and Mordecai decide they need a raise and they do it with a keyboard named "The Power" that can do anything, then problems happen when they use the keyboard. This review is going to tell why this is an amazing first episode. Even if it's not the real first one, with "First Day" from season 2 episode 25, chronologically being the first episode and the original pilot which came out in 2009.

The animation is used great here. This includes the moves, both Mordecai and Rigby use when dancing to "The Power," the landscape of the moon with the things Rigby sent there and when Rigby does "Hamboning." The plot is great, the keyboard "The Power" being a creative idea that gives our main characters anything (even if the two didn't use the keyboard to fix their wall) and the rest taking place in the moon, where Mordecai and Rigby fix their mistake.

The humor is very funny, this includes the many adult jokes, like "Don't look at our crotches while we synchronize our watches!" and swearing used like c**p and p*** (in a PG rated Cartoon Network show, which makes it even more funny). The songs and rapping are also fun to listen to. The characters are likable, hilarious and in character. This includes Rigby, Mordecai, Pops, Benson and Skips.

The problems that prevent this from a 10/10 are Mordecai and Rigby being stupid for not using the keyboard to fix the wall, but that's more of a small problem (won't affect the episode that much if they fixed that wall actually). As well as even if the characters are likeable, hilarious and in character; other episodes had them more of that way and I just don't think they are the best here. Still overall "The Power" is an awesome first episode that has cool animation scenes, an awesome and creative plot, has hilarious humour and songs, introduces the characters well and is just an amazing way to start the awesome tween (ages 10-12) cartoon "Regular Show." If you want to start watching Regular Show, I highly recommend that you watch this episode first. This gets a 9/10.

Reviewing Every Regular Show Episode (1/246)
ianmcclure-5188226 April 2024
Season 1, Episode 1 - The Power __________________________________________

The Perfect Premiere...

Yeah, this is a great start to one of the best Cartoon Network series, and this premiere does a fantastic job at not only setting up the interesting, and varied characters of this series, but it also is able to set up the world of this series, in a crazy and wacky way. The show for the most part takes place in a park, and follows the two main characters Mordecai and Rigby, and follows them through their day to day lives. Although, what makes this show so captivating, is the crazy twists and turns that it takes, and just how it can go from a normal comedy series, to one of the most absurd things known imaginable. Which this episode does that, and more. I won't try to spoil the plot of this first episode, since I think the first episode is best watched blind, but for my future reviews of these episodes, I will include full on plot points, and other spoiler related stuff, so keep that in mind.

Other than that though, this is a great first episode, and it sets up the main themes of the show, perfectly!

My Score: 9.1/10.
