During the Scooby-Doo segment Bat-Mite points out a mistake the artistic team made painting Batman's neck. This is probably a joke to the countless miss-paintings throughout the episode.
The first case dealt with the team of Batboy and Rubin trying to solve the murders allegedly committed by the Floogle Gang, the Fleagle Gang, and the Flurgle (sp) Gang.
Stylishly and story-wise, this segment actually is an almost exact animation/recreation of a Batman parody as it appeared in one of the earliest incarnations of MAD Magazine.

During the Scooby-Doo segment, Penguin and Joker hide from the Scooby-Doo gang by putting on monster costumes and standing among mannequins. The mannequins are made up of various villains from Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (1969), and the costumes that Penguin and Joker use are the same costumes that they used in The Caped Crusader Caper (1972).
