- David Rossi: [voiceover] Marcel Proust wrote: "Remembrance of things past is not necessarily the remembrance of things as they were."
- David Rossi: [voiceover] Mark Twain wrote: "When I was younger, I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not. But my faculties are decaying now, and soon I shall be so I cannot remember anything but the things that never happened." "It is sad to go to pieces like this, but we all have to do it."
- David Rossi: [receiving a phone call from Hotch] I hope you want me to come in. I mean, between writer's block and my neighbor's construction, I'm going crazy here.
- David Rossi: Did your fiancée say anything that sounded out of the ordinary?
- Michael Young: No. She sounded like herself, considering the circumstances.
- Dr. Spencer Reid: You say that her lexical features are consistent with her vernacular?
- Michael Young: Huh?
- David Rossi: Are the words hers?
- Dr. Spencer Reid: Everything in the house is labeled. Drawers, the refrigerator. I found Donepezil and flashcards in the medicine cabinet.
- David Rossi: Donepezil? Alzheimer's?
- Dr. Spencer Reid: It's a cholinesterase inhibitor. It improves acetylcholine, either by increasing levels of it in the brain or enhancing nerve cells' response to it.
- Lee Mullens: What are you doing?
- Colby Bachner: What's it look like?
- Lee Mullens: I'm hungry. And my stories aren't on.
- Colby Bachner: Ten minutes and I'll be in.
- Lee Mullens: I want go hunt.
- Colby Bachner: No, Dad. We're not hunting today.
- Lee Mullens: Why not?
- Colby Bachner: We need to lay low. I mean there's cops all over the neighborhood. We'll start up again next week, okay?
- Lee Mullens: I don't want to wait. It's been three damn weeks since we've been hunting.
- Colby Bachner: Dad, we hunted yesterday.
- Lee Mullens: No, we didn't.
- Colby Bachner: Yeah, we did. Look in there.
- [shows the body]
- Lee Mullens: I didn't do that.
- Colby Bachner: Yeah, you did.
- Lee Mullens: No, I didn't. You've been hunting without me.
- Colby Bachner: Why would I hunt without you?
- Lee Mullens: What's her name?
- Colby Bachner: Shelly something. We got her at the pharmacy.
- Lee Mullens: I didn't do that.
- Colby Bachner: She was selling knives.
- Lee Mullens: Why would I do that? I got knives.
- Colby Bachner: She wouldn't say the words.
- Lee Mullens: That's not my work. I don't do work like that.
- Colby Bachner: Dad, it's okay if you don't remember.
- David Rossi: Seventeen years ago he sounded like background noise, but when I digitized them, you could hear every word.
- Lee Mullens: [recoded voice] Yes, she did. She's dead.
- Dr. Spencer Reid: It's stunningly creepy.
- David Rossi: I never caught The Butcher, but I caught his voice.
- Lee Mullens: Well, how are you gonna help me today?
- Colby Bachner: [shows photos] The pharmacy girl gets off at 2:00, the nurse's shift ends at 3:00, and the teacher gets out of school at 3:30.
- Lee Mullens: What about that girl outside the other day?
- Colby Bachner: Anna, our neighbor? She's too close.
- Lee Mullens: Where's her picture?
- Colby Bachner: We never took one. No, come on, choose one of these girls. They'll all be good.
- Lee Mullens: You're trying to make me look stupid. I'm not stupid.
- Colby Bachner: No one said you were stupid. You just... You got to keep practicing.
- Lee Mullens: I know a better way to practice.
- Colby Bachner: It's not time.
- Lee Mullens: It's time when I say it's time. I want to go out. Take me out.
