One of the characters says that after Röhrich installed some new plumbing appliances it was necessary to call the fire department, the Technisches Hilfswerk (THW, Federal Agency for Technical Relief) and civil protection services (Katastrophenschutz). However, both the fire department and THW are actually part of civil protection services (there is no overall civil protection service entity, it is made up of various organizations).
