Attack On the Clones
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic12 August 2020
There had been brilliant episodes of Clone Wars up to this point which I rated 9.5/10 but this was the first absolute 10/10 episode.

Such a brilliant, action packed episode as Grievous and Ventress launch an attack on a clone creating centre of Kamino.

The fact that we get awesome lightsaber battles including Grievous versus Obi Wan and Assajj Ventress versus Anakin is a majorly exciting aspect. We also get space battles, underwater attacks, gunfights, clones showing heart and courage and a bit of rivalry between the separatist leaders.

A very dark and cool execution of a clone by Ventress is a real highlight for adult viewers while there are also bits of humour for younger audiences.

There is also strong dialogue and a cool storyline.

Superb episode.

My rating: 10/10.

"Fighting a war tests a soldier's skill, defending his home tests a soldier's heart"

The fortune cookie for this episode perfectly captures the tone of the episode. This episode revolves around the famous battle of Kamino, and after the episode "Clone Cadets" we follow the remains of the Domino Squad as most of them died in previous episodes. Clone troopers Fives and Echo are being sent back to Kamino to defend Tipoca City, home of the clones, from a separatist attack led by Asajj Ventress and General Grievous to whipe out the Clone Army once and for all. It's an amazing episode that shows the danger and consequences of war, there are many casualties. I would give this episode a score of 9.5/10.

"He really was one of us"

This is one of my favorite "clone episodes" outside the Umbara arc! An amazing display of action and visuals! Lots of highlight moments, like Ventress brutal kill! This episode has something for everyone and it gets quite emotional at times! Clone Wars really gave the clones a lot of personallity and this episode is no exception!

The Clone Wars never fails to impress

ARC troopers is a wonderful and emotional episode because of the fate of 99 a very nice and sympathising clone who was casted away because of his deformities.

Echo and Fives are brilliant characters and I don't have to say much about Rex and Cody there icons. The lightsaber battles were epic as usual and the whole siege of Kamino was done in wonderful fashion.

This episode has so much to enjoy

Asajj Ventress is a delicious villain who is voiced, included, and animated with such perfection that you can't help but want more every time.

With plenty of references to previous episodes to give a good sense of chronological placement but also emotional placement for the characters.

Lots of fantastic lightsaber fights, heroic moments, a wonderful "Kenobiiiii" from Greivous, and moments that pull on your heartstrings and then twist them.

The only reason it doesn't get 10/10 is because I hadn't actually wanted to start my morning with crying.

ARC Troopers

Since my first viewing of this episode, I have absolutely loved it. It is one of the best episodes of the show in my opinion, packed to the brim with great action and an emotional punch that will make a grown man cry. Right from the premise of the episode to the execution, this is a masterpiece and one of the most exciting things that have ever come out of the "Star Wars" franchise. It feels like such a small episode compared to some others, but it has the biggest stakes and the best lightsaber duels. The themes of brotherhood are perfectly carried over from the last episode, and to see all the Clone troopers go through this much to protect their homeworld was inspiring and just a great moment in "Star Wars." I'll definitely be having a toast for 99 later tonight too.

Brotherhood of Clones

I loved watching this episode. I wasn't bored at all. The Lightsaber duels were really fun to watch and Kenobi riding the animal was also great, reminded me of Revenge of The Sith. The Clones and the young clones fighting the droids was great. It showed how clones have personal feelings and wanted to protect Kamino.

"If someone comes to our home, they'd better be carrying a big blaster!"

This review may be bias as I loved this episode as a kid, but that doesn't change the fact that this is evidence supporting why The Clone Wars is a fantastic piece of Star Wars media.

To start, there is a real sense of desperation and emotion in the action, as the clones involved are fighting for their home planet Kamino, which allows for a deeper connection between the audience and the clones involved.

More screen time from Captain Rex and Commander Cody is great to see, but the highlight of this episode is the development of Fives and Echo, who would immediately become favourites of mine after watching them fight on Kamino. Additionally, the entire plot surrounding 99 brings a tear to my eye and lays the groundwork for connection between clones and audiences that would grow stronger throughout the show until Order 66, making the betrayal of the Republic's soldiers even more emotional.

To continue, the lightsaber fights between Obi Wan, Grievous, Anikan and Ventress are entertaining and provided me with what I still believe is one of the coolest scenes in the show, where a clone grabs the DNA cylinder while Ventress is force pulling it towards herself.

All in all, this episode may not be loved by the majority as the storyline is rushed, but to me it is a great instalment that makes me want to love clones even more.
