- Miguel challenges Debbie, the new girl in his life, by scoring her. He grades her on her desire to please him and on the gifts she's going to buy him IF she's expecting to go out with him. In a complete reversal of the romance genre role, it is Debbie that is suddenly doing all the running around for her boyfriend and doing all the nonsensical things most guys normally do to win the approval of women and hopefully the loves of their lives. Debbie turns into the 'Man' in the relationship, while Miguel kicks back and lets her 'love' unfold. Very soon, though, Miguel is realizing that this girl is a little more special than the others he's known. Dating Comedy.—Anonymous
- A rodeo rider travels to Australia where he has come to Donnybrook to compete in the Rodeo 8 Seconds Challenge; he meets a local woman who beams with outback charm. The more he gets to understand her un-American ways, the more he realises that this girl may in the long run be a little more unique and colourful than the others he's known. Each of their rendezvouses culminates in an exciting geographically beautiful adventure or romantic escape. In an attempt to see more of him before he leaves for the USA she organises a date aboard a cruise ferry that will see them both enjoy a new year's celebration, but the event does not go according to her plan, with him resisting her advances; he is after all on a rodeo tour. The next day he agrees to one final encounter up at the Look Out overlooking the city, and it is there that he finally agrees to give this friendship one more chance.
