Hard to know what to make of this episode, which suddenly seems to make a huge handbrake turn and overturn both its plot lines in the last few minutes. For most of the episode, Ruby seems to accept she's messed up, even if it does manifest itself as self-pity.Liam's attempts to protect her reputation while dealing with the situation are noble if somewhat dangerous.Bianca spends most of the episode acting like a cow, albeit one that's talking a lot of sense, but her confrontation with Ruby at the end actually seems to be called for, given that Ruby seems to have slipped back into denial.
Meanwhile, Sid, Marilyn and Miles spend a lot of the episode worrying about Penn, who is continuing to charge around the Bay like a one man demolition squad. It's a shame that Nicole can go from being so supportive of Ruby to so deluded about her latest crazed boyfriend. After seemingly being won over by him, Miles pleasingly chooses to believe Sid's story.Unfortunately, he and Marilyn put in a truly terrible performance in their so-called "intervention" with Nicole, failing to mention anything of significance and only muddying the issue.
