I'm crush on by geology, thus Death Valley whereof Hollywood made there countless pictures draw my attention due anyone survives there more than three days without water, watching this doc about this of which is one driest place in the world, the geologists try explain how it was made, around on billion year this place was an shallow inland ocean, due the Pacific plate shocked into underneath North American plate it raise up the entire area, due it titanic forces allowed create several Vulcans that later had shaped the Sierra Nevada that was fragmented in three sessions high mountains and the last one has a gap where today lying down the Death Valley itself.
This three high mountains range blocking the wet clouds from Pacific ocean through Death Valley, such blockage allowed just receiving 50 millimeters of water per year, otherwise the high heat boils of 380 millimeters according the measuring by Death Valley National Park, such happenings became this place in the driest place, also around 12 thousand years glaciers shaped the lowest canyon on Death Valley, aftermaths receiving a high amount of water created a large lake of freshwater surround by a lushly landscape, however the climatic changes in last two thousand years on Earth dried up the lake and slowly became as appeared today, plus on the gold rush era it received the name Death Valley by the miners officially, another valuable ore was found there as Borax that had a prospect in large scale transported by wagon mules well-known as Borax Wagon Train.
Many spots are displayed on the doc as Badwater Basin, Badwater Salt Flats where the crystals make noises on hottest hour of daily and Zabrieskie point as well, many geologist as Tony Prave, Mari Miller, John Caskey just name a few explained thru the rocks silts and minerals layers the geological past of this hell's environment that today we call Death Valley, fantastic episode of How the Earth was Made.
