- Owen and Terry team up on a new commercial for the dealership. Joe tries to get his store and his life back on track but old relationships complicate matters.
- Open with Owen doing some late night work. He spots a Scapula commercial online which takes a few shots at his dealership.
Owen shows his staff the commercial, telling them he thinks Scarpula is swooping in during their time of weakness. He wants to start a new campaign with Terry as the face of the dealership. Terry doesn't seem to like the idea.
Phil calls Joe to remind him he still owes him $500. Joe tells him not to worry about paying him back. A happy Joe has bought the staff new uniforms. He says he's going to be around the store more often, starting with them doing some painting that weekend.
Terry tells Owen he doesn't want to do "another bad commercial." Owen promises it will double his sales, as well as helping the dealership compete with Scarpula. Terry agrees and Owen promises a "classy" campaign.
The guys go for a hike. Owen talks about having trouble sleeping. They run into Joe's fantasy woman on the trail. Joe decides to strike up a conversation with her, in the process admitting he's no longer trying out for the senior tour. She leaves and Joe says "it ain't going to happen" in relation to the golf plan. He tells them the pre-qualifying process starting next weekend. Terry thinks the fantasy woman might be into Joe.
Owen Sr. tells Owen that with Bruce gone he needs to "step it up." Owen Sr. asks what time he needs to show up for the commercial shoot and Owen doesn't have the heart to say his father wasn't in the plans. He tells him to show up.
Maria and Deshaun ask Joe for a raise since they've been given more managerial-type responsibilities. He says he can't afford it and they walk out.
The day before a big promotion Owen has been advertising the car wash breaks down. He calls Melissa to say he's going to be busy tracking down a replacement part.
Joe is stuck understaffed for his paint project.
Owen's fix-it guy is dead tired and Owen has to stay late helping him fix the car wash.
We see Terry at home the day of the commercial shoot. He admits to Erin he's kind of excited about the script.
Owen arrives at the dealership the next morning to find a huge line at the car wash. But he forgot to add more sales staff to that day's shift so only two guys are working. Owen sits in his office and stews, ignoring a ringing phone for a minute or so.
Joe ended up sleeping at the store with Carlos. Phil shows up with his money and wants to put another bet down. Joe refuses to take any more of his bets.
Joe drives to both Maria and Dashaun's homes, getting them to return to the store. The team appears to have a great time finishing the project. Joe gives Carlos the some of his golfing practice tools.
After the first take of the commercial Terry takes Owen aside and says he thinks the spot is boring. After Terry says he's concerned they might not get any business from the money spent on the ad, Owen has a mini-panic attack. Terry tells the director he thinks the commercial is forgettable. She says the longer they delay the more it will cost. Terry thinks they need help from Joe. Terry has one of the sales guys do a bunch of goofy min-ads in front a green screen. Owen Sr. hates the idea and storms off the set.
After the shoot the director tells Terry he seems to have a knack for directing. She mentions it's the only part of shows business where "they let us old farts stick around."
Owen returns home having missed some important family stuff with the kids. He apologizes to Melissa. She is understanding but says the family misses him.
Terry comes home and Erin has framed old pictures of the two of them. Things seem to be going well.
The next morning we see Owen Sr. cleaning up after the commercial shoot. He looks disgusted.
Joe opens up his renovated store. Manfro is the first guy through the door. It turns out Phil called Manfro and he's now furious with Joe for taking bets. He starts tearing up the store and eventually elbows Joe in the face when he tries to stop him, knocking out a tooth. Manfro leaves, but quickly walks back into the store to tell Joe what to do in order to save the tooth for the dentist.
Terry happened to show up to return some stuff used in the commercial just as Manfro was leaving. Joe lies and says Manfro was a homeless guy who randomly attacked him.
Terry takes Joe to the dentist, which is where Dory works. After having his tooth put back in he tells Dory she was right, "about everything." She finds him outside the office and apologizes, saying she should have given him an explanation. The bet Joe made scared her. She tells him not to let "bad Joe" win.
In the process of cleaning up the store Joe finds that Carlos threw his golf stuff in the dumpster. The episode ends with Joe at the driving range hitting balls.
