Abandon the producing field
If I can give any advice to the manufacturer, it would be to abandon the producing field and to practice his great secret of resuscitating dying men. We have a sheriff thrown down a precipice; he appears as dead; he cannot help himself. When a rescuer arrives he has hard work to raise the wounded sheriff, to help him to the road, where from exhaustion the said sheriff falls again on the ground as a dead man. Presto, without the least warning, the sheriff is on his feet, gun in hand and strong enough to handcuff his rescuer. It is really wonderful to see how men badly wounded can be brought back to life in no time, and a manufacturer able to accomplish such miracles could make more money in the medicine business than in the moving picture field. As the manufacturer wanted the public to fully understand that the wounded man was the sheriff, said sheriff was decorated with a star as large as a sunflower. - The Moving Picture World, July 9, 1910
