- Brennen teams Michael up with Larry to track down and kill the people on the list.
- Ruthless arms dealer Tyler Brennen, who killed Marv but couldn't yet steal the list, turns up and blackmails Michael with a tape exposing him to Vaughn to become his henchman, forcibly teamed up with rogue ex-spy Larry Sizemore to steal the list itself after locating it at great risk. Both actually bide time while Sam, Jesse and Fi actually manage to get it from Vaughn's safe. Larry already killed Brennen, hoping to control Michael the same way.—KGF Vissers
- Previously on...: Michael figured out that Vaughn was behind getting him burned and found the list of everyone involved. He handed it over to Marv, Jesse's government pal, who gave in to threats from part-time spy Brennen and handed the list to him. Marv was killed in the shootout that resulted.
Jesse is struggling with Marv's death and Sam is worried about him. Michael plans to meet with Brennen and Jesse wants to go, but Sam thinks it's a bad idea. Jesse gets upset and wants to know how Brennen got Marv to flip. Michael tells Jesse he can't be involved in anything having to do with Brennen, and that he has to sell the authorities on a story about Marv's death. Jesse is not happy.
Brennen tells Michael he's spent over $162,000 in the last year keeping tabs on him, and thanks Michael for leading him to "good ol' Marv," who handed over the list. Brennen wants Michael to kill some government agents -- the people on the list. Brennen tells Michael that if he refuses, a "very special audio file" will be sent to Vaughn. It's Michael's debrief on Vaughn's covert team, and Brennen says Vaughn will kill Michael and his friends and family. Brennen hands Michael the government ID number for the first person he wants Michael to kill. He introduces Michael's old partner and mentor Larry, who will be keeping Michael in line.
Larry tells Michael he's been given an opportunity by Brennen to get his revenge on everyone on the list. Sam and Larry get into a verbal fight and Sam turns it physical so he can whisper to Michael that he needs to get Larry's cell phone number.
Jesse talks to some agents and hands them some files on a Mexican drug cartel that Marv was apparently looking into off the books. He made it up, but feels bad because it put a black mark on a good man's record. He feels responsible for Marv's death, but he can't call Marv's family. He tells Maddy that he didn't learn the story of how his mom was killed until much later. He says that when you lose someone close, "the truth matters." She tells him it sometimes hurts others and he might want to think of Marv's family first.
Larry explains to Michael that he's working with Brennen for the financial benefit, but that Brennen won't be holding the list forever. Larry plans on breaking into a courthouse to get into the computer system to match the government ID number to a person, but he wants to take out one guard. Michael wants no casualties and tells Larry he needs his cell number to execute the plan. Michael quickly texts Fiona and Sam Larry's number.
Larry goes in posing as an attorney and tries to distract a clerk. Larry and Michael team up to get the clerk up from his chair so they can sneak into the computer server room. While Larry makes a cell phone call to Brennen, Sam tracks it but Brennen is working some magic, bouncing his phone's network ID number and changing call histories. Meanwhile, Michael and Larry find the name, Albert Machado, and then pretend to be lawyers arguing over who's in charge on their case when federal marshals are looking to clear the floor because of the computer break-in.
Michael is upset that Brennen and Larry are celebrating the looming killing of Albert Machado. Brennen says he's planning on who they will frame for Machado's murder, which catches both Larry and Michael by surprise. They want details on Brennen's plan and he admits he's framing a Filipino separatist group. Michael encourages them to kidnap Machado for ransom and interrogation and Brennen and Larry seem to think it's a good idea. Brennen also gives Michael a warning that if he gets even a hint that Michael is trying to track Brennen, he'll drop Vaughn's entire operation on Michael's head.
Sam and Fiona find a hole-in-the-wall electronic repair shop where Fiona thinks Brennen is getting his cell scrambling equipment. They break in and grab the guy who runs it. He says he sold him a cell scrambler and a high-tech wall safe that only Brennen can open because of its biometric lock. He says he's afraid Brennen will kill him if he gives up any information. Sam calls Jesse for backup on approaching Brennen.
Larry and Michael are staking out Machado's place when Larry starts asking Michael how he plans on stealing the list from Brennen. Michael plays coy but Larry admits he's trying to keep Brennen comfortable for his own plan to steal the list. Michael knows Larry doesn't want Brennen scurrying and hiding with the list. They see Machado get out of his car and Michael notices his guard are former Army Rangers. Larry calls Brennen, who wants to hear their plan for getting Machado. They share the plan and Michael says he'll need a couple of days to watch Machado's security team. Brennen knows Michael will also use that time to work his way out of Brennen's grip, so Brennen insists they go in for Machado immediately.
Michael tries to get Brennen to reconsider his demand that they go in right away, but Brennen says he's worried about their safety, too. So he hands Michael a bulletproof vest. He also hands over a bomb blueprint used by the Filipino separatist group to set up the framing.
Back at the loft, Jesse is fed up with tip-toeing around Brennen and says he wants to threaten Brennen, but Sam doesn't like it. Jesse then suggests they break into the safe and wait for Brennen to show up. But when they go scout the location of the safe, they see it's extremely heavily covered by cameras.
Back at Machado's place, Michael and Larry shut down the compounds power to break in. Once inside, they split up so Larry can squeeze Machado out of the place into Michael's waiting arms. Michael uses the moment to call Sam and get an update on tracking Brennen. Michael gets Machado into a car in preparation for the kidnapping but Larry comes up and drops a bomb into the car. Michael and Larry run away as it explodes. Michael is upset that Larry killed Machado instead of going through with the kidnapping, but Larry says Michael is losing his intensity.
The argument quickly turns to the pair agreeing to work together and Michael tells Larry about where Brennen is hiding the list. Larry is elated, but Michael tells him they have to get the audio files from Brennen before going after the list.
Brennen is waiting for them with champagne and Larry suddenly pulls a gun and points it at Michael. He says the interesting thing about a biometric lock is that the owner can still open it even after he's dead. He quickly stabs Brennen in the stomach and takes him hostage, still pointing the gun at Michael. He tells Brennen he knew Michael would handle the hard stuff and lead him to the list. Brennen's last words are, "You didn't beat me, Michael." Larry says he beat him.
Brennen's death doesn't save Michael from being hunted by Vaughn because Brennen had set an e-mail to go to Vaughn with the audio file every morning at 5 a.m., and only Brennen could stop it from being sent as long as Michael was following his orders. Larry tells Michael he was counting on having that threat against Michael and tells him to call Sam and Fi and tell them to go away, or else they'll be killed. He calls Fi and tells her to take Sam, Jesse and Maddy and get out of town. Larry says they're going to go for a little ride.
Fiona knows Michael is in trouble because he called her "honey" on the phone.
Larry and Michael head toward the safe, but Jesse and Fi are already there trying to pop it out of the wall with explosives. They do it and Jesse drops it off the balcony to the ground below. He and Fi then rappel down the side of the hotel.
Larry and Michael get to the room to find the safe gone. Larry is upset and points his gun at MIchael, but soon realizes he's got the laser beam of a sniper rifle pointed right at his head. Sam is in another building, pointing the sniper rifle at Larry, and calls Larry to tell him to let Michael go and wait for the cops, or else Sam will kill him.
Michael heads toward the door while Larry threatens to shoot him, but Michael tells Larry he knows he won't shoot because if he does, Sam will kill him immediately and that even though Michael has things he'd die for, Larry won't die for anything. Michael finally tells Larry the difference between them is that Michael actually knows Larry but Larry only thinks he knows Michael. Michael leaves and Larry stands there as police sirens get closer.
Michael says they'll hand the list over to the government and Fi wants to know what happens after that. Michael says they'll take things one step at a time. Fi is upset, saying that they used to talk about where they wanted their lives to go, but "now, the only time we talk about our future is when somebody is trying to end it."
Fi drills into the safe while Sam and Michael wait. Maddy consoles Jesse, who is still upset about Marv's death. She tells him she called Marv's family for him. She tells Jesse that she told Marv's daughter that she couldn't say much, but that "her daddy died a hero." She says that she's learned from Michael that if one little lie will help a family sleep at night, that's not such a bad thing.
They get the thumb drive out of the safe and Michael prepares for how he will deal with Vaughn's wrath the next day after he gets the audio file from Brennen's e-mail.
Michael tells everyone to get some sleep, "tomorrow's going to be a long day."
